I immediately shouted What The Fuck across my room, jesus...
There is a guy who has every effect of the most expensive unusual and his backpack is worth $25k
oh good lord i never laughed so hard at something valve related.
stot shako 2 ref
... or has never liked TF2's gameplay to begin with. The gameplay is still fun and excellent, it's just different now.
you realize how these statements are inherently contradictory right tf2 is an entirely different game now than what it was on release. i played that shit for >600 hours, and I didn't stop for no reason. valve through repeated rolling out of additional weapons destroyed the calculus of the game and took what was a very well designed game with set rules into a very random and unpredictable experience. they changed it completely. tf2 now is not the same as the pre soldier-demo update where everything began going downhill significantly. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] people think that we're bitching about the hats, we're not, it's entirely about the weapons
I remember when TF2 was just a class based shooter Now it has a bigger economy than Greece
Well that's not that hard. There's normally a bigger economy than Greece under most vending machines.
$800 is nothing. I myself currently own one that is worth $900 and owned one that was worth $1500. Also some hats have sold for $3000 in the past (burning flames team captain, killer exclusive)
Why the fuck is it so expensive, do people really care that much about hats? I can understand things going up to like $50 if they're really rare but going into the hundreds let alone thousands, either you're joking or... just wow.
Really shows how far TF2 has fallen, both in game quality and in community.
"Oh noes, hats. This game sucks now because of hats..." [sp]and russian mobsters laundering money with said hats...[/sp] [editline]14th November 2012[/editline]
Why the fuck is it so expensive, do people really care that much about hats? It's not even a service like you would pay in a f2p game and get some kind of advantage. This is just like having a pair of pants that costs 20€ and then the same exact pair with a tag from Salsa or Levi's with an exorbitant price.
This came outta nowhere. I mean, I'd never imagined that a video game made by a prominent game company may actually be used to commit crimes.
Russians are the fucking scum of the TF2 community, I don't care if it's racist, or if you're Russian and offended, but the shit I've seen always comes from Russians. They brought this stereotype upon themselves
I used to play a game where russians were the very first people to bring the concept of buying in-game gold from 3rd party websites. Still remember the names aswell... CashnCarry and KingKull, those fuckers had the highest grade of shit while everyone else had stuff a few grades below. Now everyone buys in-game gold, but instead of going for illegal sites, most use the ingame cash shop, where you buy items that you can sell ingame for lots of gold, and ends up being legal.
I'm sorry but I can't take this seriously.
€/$/£/ru is always serious business hombre
I just can't look at this fucking thread with a straight face.
has anyone emailed Valve about this yet
has anyone emailed Valve about this yet
Imagine if Gabe was secretly in on this, and this turned into one of those movies with the bad guy (Gabe in this case) going all mad, evil inventor, praising his invention with mad laughs. "You fools! Don't you get it?! I've created an economy all by myself! Why waste time creating such things as games?! My invention could save world economy by itself! Hahahahah!"
This is as elaborate as the bloody share market.

TF2 is still as fun as ever, I don't get why people claim its ruined because of hats. The maps are way better than release and there are tons of playstyles now. Valve has done a good job of balancing the items, the only legitimate argument is that the vanilla melee weapons are always worse.

my TF2 Backpack is worth $91 :v: [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] I do think TF2 updates have gotten out of hand (mid life crisis? did somebody mention earlier) But if the TF2 team just introduced a "vanilla" mode with everything added recently removed, it'd shut up the whiners, and give a break from the bright purple max heads

i traded my max hat for Skyrim so i'm not gonna complain about it if dudes wanna buy in-game items and give me stuff i'm okay with that, capitalism in action
Aww, I expected Russian mafia getting paid for an assassination with earbuds and shit :v:
valve through repeated rolling out of additional weapons destroyed the calculus of the game and took what was a very well designed game with set rules into a very random and unpredictable experience.
Except that's not true at all, I know exactly how every weapon in the game works and I know how to counter them. And I've never even tried to, it just happened as I played. Just because you didn't want to take the time to learn how new things worked, does not make TF2 bad. Just because it's different, does not make it bad. Does it give you a legitimate reason for not liking it? Sure, why not. But it does not make TF2 a bad game.
Bitches please I have gotten 500$+ worth of games and shit since trade was released.
i have 6 dollars worth of items anyone got 6 dollars i can have
This is brilliant

When people have gun X, which you don't have because it costs $30 or is completely unavailable anymore.
Very shit for competition though. When people have gun X, which you don't have because it costs $30 or is completely unavailable anymore.
Like, no weapon with actual stats are unavailable, nor does any of the weapons in this game cost above 10 dollars, most of them cost a few dollars but can easily be gotten ingame just after a few weeks with the drop system.
The Unusual market is a dark, cold world. You cannot trust anyone. Sharks are everywhere, trying to grab the goods you got.
