So how exactly do you make money off buying keys?
Money laundering isn't about making money, it's about getting rid of tainted money and getting clean money in return. They buy keys with stolen credit cards (tainted money), trade those keys for earbuds, and sell those earbuds for real money, thus getting clean money in return. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline]
99% of credit cards out there will automatically decline purchases that are "fraud". I.E. if I've been buying things in Ohio, but a purchase is made in new york, that purchase is instantly declined and you get sent a fraud alert And the huge advantage of credit cards, is because it isn't your money, it's much easier to get a fraud pruchase that isn't detected automatically, reversed or dropped on your bill. You can go to any charge on your credit card, report it as a fradulent charge, and then make a case for how there's now way you could have purchased it. The charge is put on hold, and when its determined its fraud you aren't liable to pay it. Meanwhile, if you lose your debit card info (which by all accounts works exactly like a credit card), you INSTANTLY get that money deducted from your account, and you can't do anything about it. You also falsely believe that the only way you can get money off a debit card, is if you have a pin. This ONLY applies to certain purchases and ATM withdrawls. You don't need a pin to by groceries (just charge as credit), gas (just charge as credit), buy anything online, etc. Hell, 99% of things you buy with a debit card don't require a pin- its only when you ask for cash back, or if a purchase is over a certain amount at very specific stores, that you have to put a pin in.
In the US maybe, where I live you always have to input a pin. That said, credit cards also have a pin now, but can be used in other country's without a pin.
To me this story sounds like the plot to a James Bond movie.
Plot: Bond tracks down one of the Russian traders, scams the shit out of him, and will only give him his stuff back if he tells Bond who he works for. He says that he works for some lady and gives him her IP address. Bond finds her and convinces her (sexytime) to tell him who she works for. She tells, and Bond scams the crap out of the russians and defeat them in a TF2 match. However, she decides to doublecross him and try to kill him, but she fails, and Bond turns the webcam on in teamspeak. He threatens them to tell him where they are so they can meet, or he'll kill her. They do, and they meet, but they reveal they are a bunch of loser basement dwellers were pressured by a former Janus Syndicate member, who was too old to do anything himself, to get Janus back on its feet. However, while Bond listens, they take off their fake pimples and ugly hair wigs and get up their guns. But as you'd expect, Bond kills them anyway. As it turns out, they were russian mobsters who got access to the internet and TF2.
Russians are the fucking scum of the TF2 community, I don't care if it's racist, or if you're Russian and offended, but the shit I've seen always comes from Russians. They brought this stereotype upon themselves
whoa calm down there
and to think I was getting buds for everyone when they were available I asked 15 people only 2 accepted my offer
and to think I was getting buds for everyone when they were available I asked 15 people only 2 accepted my offer
I remember how you could get them as a windows user by emulating mac os. I was like: people are going through this hassle just for a lame misc item that will make you look like a macfag? And now? I lost control of my life.
Man, why is it always Russians?
Because they're the bad guys, they even admit it.
i quit that game when the unusual shit started getting out of hand it's honestly like the fucking red scare in that game, nobody wants to trade with russians
Whenever someone trades me and I see russian shit I get out of there as soon as possible.
Good god if my mother saw this thread she'd have a fucking field day. She'd go on about how TF2 is evil and it's used by nothing except Russian criminals and pedophiles.
That is just sad. Just. Fucking. Sad.
Why's it sad? Some people have interests and hobbies that they spend a lot of money on- people have bought and sold baseball cards for millions of dollars, for example. What makes collecting TF2 items any more sad or pathetic than collecting train sets, baseball cards, stamps, knives, coins, etc? Check ebay, people spend incredible amounts of money on all of these things.
that's at least 1,250$ right there
Depends on levels, some of those may go for up to $10 more if they're level 0,1,42,69,99,100. :V
Depends on levels, some of those may go for up to $10 more if they're level 0,1,42,69,99,100. :V
hence i said at least, i just did 25x50 since 25 dollars was the minimum price i remember them being. pretty sure they're worth more than that now
hence i said at least, i just did 25x50 since 25 dollars was the minimum price i remember them being. pretty sure they're worth more than that now
They go for 32-35 USD nowadays So that would be ~33 * 50 = 1,650 USD
