They're showing a video of some people with jackets that say "Military", or perhaps it's militia. It's hard to read.

Militsiya, basically what they call police in most former Soviet states. And it does translate to militia in English.
Isn't this like, on the verge of escalating? The rioters are pumped up and dont look like they will back off anymore. Even the parliament started having fistfights.
All those makeshift weaponry and inspiring stuff is kind of scary it's like an unstopable tsunami but it's conscious and throwing molotov cocktails at you and it's getting bigger and wilder every minute.
I'm so glad I'm not there right now.
There have been frequent fistfights in the Ukrainian parliament for years

There's a picture of a protester with a handgun in that article. I really hope he didn't have to use it.

Firing on the police during a protest is quite a good way to start a massacre. I highly doubt he did little more than brandish and shout obscenities.

i mean we really don't have any sway over Ukraine like russia or the EU do, now we could call for action in the U.N. but that would require russia and china to also agree, and well lets face it they will never vote for the death of an authoritarian state because that's what they are
it's surreal exploring these empty hallways from the cameraman's perspective, really hoping they don't run into police or something
Really wish someone could translate though
one has to wonder how this will affect the Olympics, Russia's moment in the spot light, and what retribution they would do to Ukraine if the games were cancled/delayed because of danger in the region, i mean russia likes to dominate Ukraine already

Sochi is 1000km away, it's not likely to be affected directly. If Russia decides to support the government faction, though, especially with actual troops, then they might be facing a huge backlash.
