Does anybody know who's side the tanks will be on when they arrive? I'm not sure the government is in full control of the army, they've had to forcibly retire the Chief of Defense before and he's still agitating for some level of coup.

Units have been blocked from deploying from Lviv, Kalush, and Ivano-Frankvisk. The blockers were unarmed protesters, and if the military was serious about deploying they would have used force there - at least less-lethal force. Apparently troops from Lviv even thanked protesters for blocking them. At the very least they are not wholeheartedly down with deploying against the protesters.

Nah people still act like this is a normal thing to be going on in Eastern Europe. The Western image of Eastern Europe already is people firing guns off in the air and tanks just going for drives down city blocks. This will probably painted as a typical day or something dumb.

If you look through the smoke you could see the cops start lining up in back with riot gear, and hear either a water pump or tank reving its engine off and on. Also watching the RT Stream.
the sounds of hammers and metal as well as wood on the RT Stream remind me of RTS's and Civ 5 when i click on things.
