Which is why the Svoboda elements are anti-EU as well.
They're trying to hijack the pro-EU protests for their own agenda.
which is why I'm so against them
The fact that some of the police are full of bulletholes should be enough to tell us that some of the protesters are armed, so it's no wonder that the police have also shot some people last night.
At the same time you can very clearly see in the videos that they were using the APC(aka 'tanks') to ram directly into the crowd and the barricades in order to remove everyone from the square.
Over 25 people (both sides) died last night in the battle to secure the square. They managed to hold some ground and bring heavy equipment in to clear it.
The government are now using firearms to fire into the crowd, and to stop protesters occupying government buildings.
The government have said that they will take "grave" action if the current intensity continues.

It didn't ram into the crowd. It stopped before the crowd. That implies they used their breaks.
Why do people keep saying that. Are they reading it somewhere and not bothering to check for themselves?

Watch the videos from the rooftops. The APCs ram into the crowd, then reverse, and ram into them again over and over.
maybe the driver or commander ordered it to halt when they realized it clearly wasn't going to work and they saw organized lines of firebombs heading their way
They also used trucks to reverse into the crowd, drive forward, and reverse into them again.

I'll try and find the videos.
Basically they get a wall of APC and trucks and intentionally crash into the front wall of protesters again and again. The APC/truck that got fire bombed was a coordinated defence after it had been happening all night. They used trucks/apcs and walls of riot police to literally crash into protesters over and over again to hammer them out of the square and take it inch by inch.
yeah I believe you
I remember seeing similar tactics used in Egypt, like this one military truck was pretty much swinging around in a crowd at 30 miles an hour. It was crazy shit, I'm surprised it didn't hurt more people.

here's one of the videos. they crash into them with vehicles.

I would say its just hitting the barricade but it is hitting the people and is pretty brutal.
My points still stand about the protests being hijacked the the violence being propgated by radical elements within the opposition.

Apparently over a thousand people were wounded from both sides last night.

Jesus Christ I wonder if this whole thing will leave Ukraine divided and weak.
Cause neighboring countries always had their eyes on ex-territories, Russia especially

Are you implying Ukraine was ever united and strong?
Are you implying Ukraine was ever united and strong?
Well at least it was much better when it was more or less stable than the situation it got now, the country is literally dividing itself

This probably sounds a bit different to what really happens. It declared its independence from Kyiv officials (as they are the ones usually responsible for assigning heads of regions), so instead Lviv and Lviv region would be governed by people selected in local elections etc.
It's not a branching off, more of a sign that government lost its control over Lviv.

EU countries bordering Ukraine(Poland and Romania) will most likely intervene if Russia actually sends troops
Poland is fanatical about Ukraine, dunno why. And Romanians really, really don't like Russia and you can bet your ass we won't accept russian soldiers taking over a neighboring country.

Shits gotten real. Though they probably don't have ammo for the Pak 40 considering its a WW2 anti tank gun.
Totally called Russian military intervention
This is over
welp, time to find a way for people to hi-jack those tanks or get out the RPG's or home made explosives... target the tracks so it remains immobilized.
