Watching that one guy just lying behind the tree, already bleeding and crying out for help take another bullet right through the chest for no reason... jesus christ
That presumably lone sniper killed like 15 people alone in this video
I might get dumbs for this. But that video alone shows me 100% why the protesters aren't going to stop. You don't shoot a wounded man who is laying on the ground, calling for help.

it goes to show the complete disregard for the life of their own citizens. that's far beyond any sort of crowd control. it's closer to slaughter than anything.
I can completely understand the anger and hatred the people have towards the government and their disagreement with the current deal. after watching your neighbors being picked off like pests during a cull I can see why they'd want a violent uprising.
Then the opposition wins the election and get mad because of the reduced power they got from it. :v:
Then Yanukovich wins again because he's the most popular candidate as shown by multiple opinion polls, including the one after the failed EU trade deal. The protesters are mostly comprised of stupid punks that want to fuck shit up and mercenaries trying to destabilize Ukraine. If Yanukovich loses the election, Ukraine is doomed, because the three parties opposing him are fucked up, Golden Dawn tier ultra-nationalists
The protestsors have taken over the Parlament and the Presidential palace, the parliament continues to function, is the only legitimate power in Ukraine
The presidential palace is empty, Yanuk is missing, nobody knows where he is, some say escaped to Belarus, some say to Abu Dabhi where all his corrupt money is

I'm dumb, I was planning to go get some food when this video was over. I sat here for 11 minutes before realising it's live.

intercepted communications between snipers
It's hard to translate. The phrases are terse and often indistinct. Here I tried to translate a bit, it's something like the first four minutes:
"Attention, general information. Does everyone hear me?"
"[Indistinct] plus."
"Velik plus."
"[Indistinct] plus."
"Zero, everyone hears you."
"[Indistinct], do you hear?"
"Yeah."
"The information is as follows: Attention to the Grushevskaya street, prepare to work, if there is movement with weapons, report and work. Berkut is preparing to advance (?), we'll be covering. Roger that?"
[A list of call signs saying "plus".]
[Indintinct]
"Listen, we only see Hotel Ukraine from here, maybe we should move up to your level?"
"Soon we'll open the windows and move forward, until then we're observing what we see. Listen and look. To the left, two shots, some movement, the upper windows are open, observe carefully. Adjust 16 mil (?) and prepare to work. Hotel Ukraine the base, the roof of the building and the high elevation points are a priority, Grushevskaya street - the ones to the right of Velik observe it. Roger that?"
[call sign pluses]
"Everyone, he's on the sheet metal roof. Opening fire."
"Fire directly at the barricades, to the right of Hotel Ukraine."
"Who fired? We don't work on that one on the roof, he has no weapon."
"Guys, direct the spotter, he should spot that corner. Observing."
"What spotter? We don't have one."
"The roof of the yellow building."
[Indistinct]
"[Somebody] left. Somebody worked on him, not us."
"Heron, Heron, about our associates, do we have any kind of interaction with others like us?"
"So far we only have mobile interaction."
"It's just we had better not see them by mistake."
"[Indistinct] to me, with us or from behind."
"Heron, on the cinema there was a spotter, there was a shot at him somewhere from the right."
"I saw that, I saw that."
"Everybody, Miron 35."
"35."
"The green dome, 100 farther, the roof of the building, a little to the left."
"Looks like it."
"Minus, they're gone."
"Under that sign there are two people."
"One of them has ammunition."
"Observing, looking for weapons. Distance?"
"376. No weapons thus far."
"General information, people with weapons might start moving along the Grushevskaya street."
[Indistinct]
"He's dead!" (?)
"Quickly down, we're moving out."
[Indistinct]
"Where are the people?"

The hell is this from? Extremely fishy

Wait a minute, does that mean if they did accept the deal, the military would have ousted the government personally?

Except both Batkivshchyna and UDAR are liberal or centre-right at worst. Svoboda is the only one that you could argue is on par with Golden Dawn in any capacity. I suppose you could throw in the Communists as well, but they're the smallest party group in the parliament.
YANUK HAS RESIGNED!!!!

it doesnt even matter if he has resigned or not, he has lost already
ukraine is in the hands of the people
Imagine how happy all those people must be right now, they did it.
More closeup footage from yesterday, it is insane how the police keeps shooting at people obviously trying to help wounded people, watch at the 10:30 mark
Well McDeceiver?1 Why arent you shitposting about this then.
Listen at the immense amount of rouns being fired...that cop is pulling the trigger as fast as he can at points.
All at people who are not visually armed and represent no immediate danger. Theyre also shooting at people already on theground with one or more bulletholes already in them. This is horrible and not defendable in any way and you know it.
I fully agree with protestors. Yanukovich out NOW. Not in ten months or 3 weeks. And if not voluntary, then by force.
Imagine how happy all those people must be right now, they did it.
Probably bittersweet for those who lost relatives or friends.
Imagine how happy all those people must be right now, they did it.
At great cost, but they did it.
Imagine how happy all those people must be right now, they did it.
Ukraine's economy will still default tho, so I wouldn't be too happy
And what causes this quick downspiral for Yanukovich?
The police, and the safetytroops declared loyality to the opposition. As I said was the right thing to do.
Finally, and now we need to have the small group of cops who shot their ak47's full auto at unarmed citizens and have them tried before court.
What about the MP's that sided with Yanukovych? Are they out too?
Ukraine President Yanukovych refuses to quit, describes Kiev events as a "coup"

Oh come on, first they say he resigned now this?
He's like an angry kid that doesn't want to give up in kickball, so he says he's gonna quit but then 3 seconds later he's gonna call the teacher on you, then he quits again.
He's like an angry kid that doesn't want to give up in kickball, so he says he's gonna quit but then 3 seconds later he's gonna call the teacher on you, then he quits again.
But they threw him off his seat of power, they chased him off to the other side of the country. How can he be saying that he still intends to be a president, unless he wishes to take back the capitol?
He is going to crawl over to Putin and go "look what they did. Get me my country back please. They are all radicals I know what's best for Ukraine."
[editline]22nd February 2014[/editline]
I just I don't get it. The police defected. The army defected. What does he have left?
The police nor the army have defected afaik
and he's still in control of all the economic and industrial regions.

Very curious to see how he'll think he'll do that because the police, and the safetytroops have declared loyalty to the opposition.
