Can confirm marketing incompetence and nothing else will mean "bad" numbers for TF2 [editline]28th October 2016[/editline] It makes me sad because it is such a strong game, both SP and MP

I mean like everyone else here I forgot completely that the game was even anywhere near finished.

Is it for sure due to how close it's releasing to BF1? Although they're shooters, they're a completely different style that appeal to different players.
I would've bought it if I had enough money. Until then, no Titanfall 2 for me. I loved the first one though.
I hope TF2 doesn't die early because of this. I do intend to buy it soon but there's no point in buying it now while I'm playing through 3 other games and Deathwing is out soon
A sequel to a derivative and uninteresting series has low sales. Am I supposed to feel bad for EA or something? They did it to themselves.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst all over again
Except story in Titanfall 2 is actually not bad (or so I heard) and not complete putrid garbage that is Catalyst.
They are really pushing that ancient ass engine to the limit, unless it's lowkey source 2.
It's barely the Source engine in the same way how Call of Duty's engine is barely Quake's/id Tech 3's engine.
They are really pushing that ancient ass engine to the limit, unless it's lowkey source 2.
There's probably been so many modifications to it, I doubt it'd still be compatible with Half Life 2.
Except story in Titanfall 2 is actually not bad (or so I heard) and not complete putrid garbage that is Catalyst.
The story isn't anything special. It's the gameplay, level design, and set pieces that really set it apart. There's some genuinely awesome mechanics in the campaign.
It's barely the Source engine in the same way how Call of Duty's engine is barely Quake's/id Tech 3's engine.
Actually its fairly easy to rip models from Titanfall 1 and 2, hell Valves own SFM maya plugins have no trouble opening the mdl files.
Actually its fairly easy to rip models from Titanfall 1 and 2, hell Valves own SFM maya plugins have no trouble opening the mdl files.
The core code and file formats are still there yeah, even apparent in the movement and physics too. However, Respawn's fork of the code is heavily modified to the point that it barely resembles Valve's Source engine. Although it really does keep the best things from Source.
A sequel to a derivative and uninteresting series has low sales. Am I supposed to feel bad for EA or something? They did it to themselves.
By derivate and uninteresting series you mean 1 game???
Except story in Titanfall 2 is actually not bad (or so I heard) and not complete putrid garbage that is Catalyst.
A game's content is irrelevant when nobody knows it exists. [editline]a[/editline] Despite it being one of my most favorite games of all time, I didn't know Fallout New Vegas existed until years after release, and I didn't buy it in that time because of that.
I'm pretty fucking mad they released Titanfall 2 so close to a major FPS release like battlefield 1. I really liked Titanfall one and its gameplay, even if none of my friends played it. I mean, if it was two competing companies, sure, that would make sense. Like the Usual Activision COD vs EA Battlefield, But it's literally EA deciding that they should make less money by trying to extort gamers from the same market (MP FPSes) by releasing 2 80$ games in a week's window. What the fuck.
Oh hey, I'm doing a project in uni about EA stocks! Glad to see the information for 10 or so pages is going to be fucking volatile. Get it together, EA, you asses-for-brains.

This is a shame, The campaign for Titanfall 2 is actually really nice. It's not the most amazing thing ever written and is extraordinarily light on character development and parades around like a B-movie all day long, shooting first and providing reasoning later. But it still shows time, effort and originality went into making it in the gameplay and overall design. More than Battlefield 1's campaign at least.
even cooler is [sp] an entire level that allows you to move between two timelines on a whim, so youre able to attack enemies and then go to the present, and jump back to the past in a flanked position.[/sp]
That is hands down one of the most fun levels I've played in an FPS
After EA signed a Microsoft exclusivity deal behind their back for Titanfall 1 and this release date debacle for 2, I really hope Respawn walks away and finds a publisher who actually appreciates them. They might the lose the IP, but anyone who cares will follow the team and not the brand.
So they fucked themselves over with a close release to BF1, and then are blaming the consumers, when people have already spent 80$ (depending on location) for just the base game? Not even counting the 'special' editions, one that doesn't even come with the Season pass for 120$ or so, then the one that DOES, costs near $200CAD!! EA you twats.
If I remember correctly, when Titanfall 2 was first announced, they were aiming for a 2017 Q1 release. Though I read about that last year so my memory might be a bit hazy. But I think it probably would've fared better if they stuck with it.
That is hands down one of the most fun levels I've played in an FPS
Dishonored 2 has something like this. I wish I could run Titanfall2, I'd love to play it.

well fuck i had nothing to do today and was debating bf1 vs titanfall 2 but purely for the sake of "fuck EA" guess it'll be titanfall 2 today [editline]29th October 2016[/editline] Forbes writer wrote a decent ranty blog on why the game deserves better - link The lack of paid DLC is yet another reason to support Titanfall 2. I hope these projections are incorrect.
Maybe this wouldn't have happened if EA didn't release it right after the release of the much anticipated new edition of a huge franchise, fucking Battlefield 1. What the fuck were they thinking releasing this after Battlefield 1 Why the fuck are they competing against themselves
