I have purposely avoided as much news/reviews about AC:Unity because I felt that many companies have struggled on launch day. But this interested me since it seemed like Ubisoft was blaming AMD for everything (which is odd). Anyways I was not prepared to laugh so hard that I'd begin to cry when entering this thread, but that image got me good; thank you Grimhound
KISS ME [thumb]http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/t_original/yyha5zax60xooyr11zx8.jpg[/thumb]
the fabio glitch is a glitch that doesn't need to be patched

this entire game is so sloppy
Doesn't TB's new rig use Nvidia and Intel hardware and it STILL runs like ass even on his mighty rig? When you can't play a game on max settings/peak performance with a $3000+ gaming PC, you know someone done fucked up bad.
http://www.howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=4573 you're kinda underestimating the amt of time it actually takes to beat for 15 bux its not a bad game, though the whole restriction on filesize for psn/xbox made it look ugly as hell
Plus the noise filter on everything like it's going out of style. I actually didn't even play the full version, tbh. I played the demo, spoiled myself to find out if there was even a resolution to the plot (nope), and said fuck it. 6 hours is better than 2 hours for $15, but christ this game could've actually been good, but I wasn't willing to waste the money on chapter 1 of something that was never going to be added to. But I wanted to like it. I wanted to play the full game it never would become. Broke my heart, Ubisoft, and then pissed on it with all the bullshit they've pulled since.
this entire game is so sloppy
you'll have to tell that to him [thumb]http://static1.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1544/15443861/2732023-289650_screenshots_2014-11-11_00006.jpg[/thumb]
According to TB, he had to drop the settings down to High to maintain a stable 60 FPS on a 2x GTX 980 rig. And there were still the other issues at play.
I have a single GTX 980, running everything maxed out and get 50fps outdoors and a steady 60fps indoors. Why does everyone take TBs statements for a fact?
At what resolution? 800x600? (Joking aside, please give your resolution, for comparison purposes. It matters.)
1080p, sorry forgot to mention that.

Why does everyone take TBs statements for a fact?
how long are you able to play without problems? I thought TB's whole argument was that you should be worried if your game will run it well if he is having quite a bit of trouble with it being the prominent PC reviewer that he is (and that he has the computer to do so) I'm glad you're able to run it well; game apparently has the best free running gameplay of the assasins games too

[editline]14th November 2014[/editline] Game's pretty good if you can look aside the shit optimization.
Its about fucking time Ubisoft got put to the fire for the shit they've been pulling. Hopefully its enough to fry some people out of its insane management and marketing.
Of course they'd blame AMD after signing contracts with Nvidia and just being money grabbing whores, what a fucking big surprise.
I'm sorry what, I know amd/ati always had performance issues but their hardware are made to last. But its crystal clear that the AC engine needs an overhaul.
Alright which Exorcism spell do I need to learn? [editline]14th November 2014[/editline] Show a screenshot of the game then because at this point I think you're lying or the 9xx gpus are a godsend.
Oh man, their first reaction is to blame the hardware and, by extension, the players themselves? God damn, this industry is a freaking mess.

[editline]14th November 2014[/editline] Alright which Exorcism spell do I need to learn?
I'll find out what my FPS is with my GTX770, but indoors I'm getting over 60FPS (I don't have Vsync on so I'm getting screen tearing) on outdoors I'd guess about 40-50 in crowded areas. Not a single crash or major glitch either. The area where my performance is tanking are the cutscenes for some odd reason. But obviously my PC isn't everyone else's so Ubi does really need to work on the optimization. EDIT: OK I overestimated there, but it's a steady 30-35 in outdoor areas, even with lots of people @1080p Enviroment and Texture are on High, FXAA, Bloom on, Shadows on Low, HBAO+
can AMD sue them, for lying like that?
I hope they win
It plays like bollocks. Here's my specs: [t]http://i.imgur.com/58zECDs.png[/t] I can get it to an (unstable) 30fps by turning the options to low, AA off, running in windowed mode at 900p. I rarely complain about a games performance, but the performance in this is nothing short of abysmal.
Anyone tried to play AC:Unity with a SSD?
We know Ubisoft fucks up when there's three (or more) threads on Facepunch about them fucking up with 50-100 people rating the OPs post funny.
I've had to drop the resolution down to 720p and play on Medium quality across the board. Even then, it dips to 15-20fps at times. I'm sporting an R9 280x and i5.

On PC, some media outlets have misinterpreted a forum post indicating that we were working on resolving issues that were AMD-specific. We apologize for any confusion and want to be clear that we are working with all of our hardware partners to address known issues that exist across various PC configurations. We care deeply about a smooth and enjoyable Assassin’s Creed experience and we will continue to update customers as these issues are fixed via the AC Live Updates Blog.
Backpedaling so hard they went down a staircase.
I love Ubisoft's games. But god damn I wish they were a better company.
That's utter bollocks, but I have decided I need an Nvidia graphics card and next CPU upgrade is going to be a mobo upgrade too so I can get an Intel CPU. I mean AC:U is a piss poor port (and it's just as bad on console) but still in most cases Nvidia/Intel just performs better be it optimization, drivers or just plain good luck. Basically: Ubi if your games perform shit on and AMD system you're probably at least partially responsible, even if AMD aren't that great as far as drivers go. And anyway, aren't most publishers paid to optimize better for Nvidia cards? Also yeah I know you can Intel with AMD graphics or AMD CPU with Nvidia but these combos are less common, especially considering that Intel and Nvidia are mostly seen as just higher quality and AMD and of course AMD do graphics and CPU.
Ubisoft used to be my favorite developer, but this is just pathetic.
AMD has fired back in a way, and we will have our talk with AMD up in a few days, but the company talked with WCCFTech, where they said: "The game (in its current state) is issuing approximately 50,000 draw calls on the DirectX 11 API. Problem is, DX11 is only equipped to handle ~10,000 peak draw calls. What happens after that is a severe bottleneck with most draw calls culled or incorrectly rendered, resulting in texture/NPCs popping all over the place. On the other hand, consoles have to-the-metal access and almost non-existent API Overhead but significantly underpowered hardware which is not able to cope with the stress of the multitude of polygons. Simply put, its a very very bad port for the PC Platform and an unoptimized (some would even go as far as saying, unfinished) title on the consoles".
If I'm understanding this correctly they could probably include an option that Divinity II has. Divinity II has two options called Timeslice Animations and Timeslice Shadows. These options only update one animation and one shadow per frame. It sounds like the biggest issue on pc would be making one call per frame for every npc that's currently active so something like that should help drastically drop the amount of calls per frame. (Though with the large crowds in Unity they might need to rasie that amount to not make it look like ass, it works fine in Divinity II since it's still updating 60 animations and shadows per second.)
Anyone tried to play AC:Unity with a SSD?
Yes, it still runs like stale piss. Uninstalled after the first mission. i5-2320 3.00GHz 12GB DDR3 1-6-0-0 R9 290X 4GB
