Over a period of a couple years, that leash weakened and finally broke. The dog got loose and went running. It didn't attack anything or anyone, but it could've. If it had, I couldn't be charged with negligence because it was circumstances I had absolutely no control over.

I will go over this again: Pitbulls were not bred to be fighting dogs, they [B]were bred to specialize as catch dogs for cattle (bulls especially)[/B]. The prey drive in pitbulls is specifically geared towards the catch bite. They are pretty poor trackers, aren't great at stalking or following, but they have a fantastic catch bite. The name pitbull comes from using dogs to bait and hold bulls by biting into the nose of the bull, not fighting bulls (which is dumb you would lose your dog that you just spent a bunch of money trying to get the best of the litter on)
