The Knife did annihilate most other popular albums this year imo.

i'm only one song in and this fucking owns esp the parts w/o lyrics
Rating something mostly based on how much it is or isn't like their previous works is a fucking godawful way to rate something. Why not rate it for what it actually is, not this silly IT'S TOO DIFFERENT shit. I'm not the biggest fan of it but it CERTAINLY is better than the vast majority of the shit released up to this point this year.
I'm not rating it based on other works, but it really does not sound anything like Daft Punk. Contact and Get Lucky were the only tracks worth listening to. Everything else was repetitive and boring. It doesn't matter though. FP is a gigantic Daft Punk circlejerk so it's no wonder I'll get rated "dumbs" and "disagrees." Take off your hype headphones and actually listen to it.
I prefer the calmer tone of this Album as opposed to previous Daft Punk albums, but none of the tracks really have the Daft Punk old style sampled feel to them. It doesn't feel like Daft Punk, it feels like music that anyone could make.
haha wow obviously you dont know anything about music then the knife's shaking the habitual was released this year and that blows out any unloved disco chic out of the water:
the whole painful to listen to vocalist bit got old a long time ago
Skipped through the album a bit. I was expecting a disco album, but there's definitely some classic/experimental DP in there. Promising, the disco stuff isn't really my personal taste, but I really like Motherboard, Doin' It Right, and most of Giorgio.
i'm only one song in and this fucking owns esp the parts w/o lyrics
Get Lucky had me a little turned off to the album, but I really like it! Motherboard is really good!
the whole painful to listen to vocalist bit got old a long time ago
apparently not considering that album sold a lot for a swedish independent record and got rave reviews

Sweet, grooveshark doesn't exist in germany and I don't want to install itunes. I guess I'll have to wait then...
Lose Yourself to Dance is pretty funky.
So far into the album, it doesn't feel much like Daft Punk at all. It sounds more like something I'd listen to if I was tired and wanted to sleep or relax during the day. Nothing I'd bob my head to or rock out to. However, it's melodies and production quality are top notch. It just doesn't feel "electronic" at all, which is what Daft Punk is mainly known for. It sounds like they used WAY more acoustic stuff in this album than anything else. All in all, 7/10 for me. It is definitely a great listen, just not something to jam out to.

this is very good i like it

Contact is pretty good.
Don't know why you'd compare this to Daft Punk..
Thing is, it is relavent to talk about tbh. Daft Punk before this were momentarily quite euphoric on their Alive 07 album. That energy was non-existent on their studio records imo. The Knife were way ahead of the game with Silent Shout in terms of euphoric pop music but this Shaking The Habitual stuff is literally Apocalypse Now in audio form for me.
I like it.
ok maybe not that bad but as someone who isn't vaguely in the loop of new hip 'n happenin' music, this is about all I'm getting out of that
ok you could have picked a good ono track but w/e
ok
It sounds like something you would hear a person in Sims sing.
It sounds like something you would hear a person in Sims sing.
i dont know which sims game you are playing
ok you could have picked a good ono track but w/e
not half bad, but still I don't think it's really relevant despite what AK'z said. Apples and oranges are one thing to compare, but this is like house cats and coniferous plants.
ok you could have picked a good ono track but w/e
dude stop polarising daft punk fans, it's not nice :-( yoko is magnificent tho. fyi, ringo's best drumming was on that record, nobody will agree.
I'm not going to compare this to anything but I can say that I only like a few songs on this
how is no one talking about instant crush it sounds exactly like classic daft punk and it is fucking amazing
Meh didn't really like their single but I may check it out
This post isn't stupid at all. Great elitism FP

Apples and oranges are one thing to compare, but this is like house cats and coniferous plants.
im just trying to shake the habitual because legolover seemed so convinced that the "vast majority of the shit" was trumped so easily by this record which would be offensive to anyone whos actually heard the albums coming out this year and that's the fault of big record companies who manipulate social media and sink so much cash into hyping their schlock that independent artists dont even get to be a part of anything because they cant outfund daft punk thats my deal you can laugh at my gay music tastes but as long as you hear it im happy [editline]13th May 2013[/editline]
dude stop polarising daft punk fans, it's not nice :-(
but its so fun
yoko is magnificent tho. fyi, ringo's best drumming was on that record, nobody will agree.
yeah idk i also really like the ending of lovely rita tho or tommorrow never knows even
