Really like this so far. Feels like they have matured a lot. [editline]15th May 2013[/editline] This was basically right on what I was expecting from them... I mean as they stated in an interview, the things they did before with sampling is something everyone with a computer and a basic talent in music can do, so they have to stand out from that crowd, or else it would just be a soulless rehash of old magic that everyone knows the secrets behind. [editline]15th May 2013[/editline] It is amazing because they aren't catering as much to he fans as they are to themselves, which is top notch.
I think what people don't realise is that every album is completely different anyway so there's no point bitching if the next album is a different style.
Exactly. When Discovery was released, it was criticized for not being like Homework, but now it is widely regarded to be Daft Punk's Magnum Opus.
Exactly. When Discovery was released, it was criticized for not being like Homework, but now it is widely regarded to be Daft Punk's Magnum Opus.
for me it's the Alive 07 record being the only one worth mentioning. The others are fine but the heavy energy on the live record with the audience noise actually contributing to the experience makes it much more worthwhile.
I'll have to see in a few months time how this album holds up. Right now I'm enjoying the luxurious cinematic feel, but there's this thought slowly creeping upon me that it's all "style over substance." Christ, I swear the radio where I work goes through every other song at light speed just so it can keep boring a hole in my skull with Get Lucky. The album wasn't anything special - decent workplace ambiance. Other than that, wouldn't listen to it on my own.
I like this edit of the song
