Could Oculus Rift KILL you? Extreme immersion could become so scarily realistic it may trigger heart

As far as quirks of VR go, I had a thought a while ago about Gore in VR. Some folks can't stomach the gore in games like Dead Space or Left 4 Dead, just playing it with a computer monitor.
As graphics get more advanced and immersion improves, with VR titles, could you get legit PTSD from seeing heavy gore during a VR simulation?
Just something to think about, feel free to call me an idiot if you want to.
This doesn't reek of bullshit....nope, not at all.
Will the Oculus Rift come with trigger warnings?

"Warning: Do use the Rift headset if you are sensitive to events in real life"
Considering screamers used to make me jump out of my seat or flinch I really wouldn't be surprised if someone had a heart attack because of some similar cheap jump scare if he was wearing Oculus Rift.

The only way you can die from a screamer is if you were already about to die.
I could agree with this if it were a really good horror game.
Otherwise no.
Something like a Ravenholm map might make me shit my pants, I don't see a heart attack in my near-future though...
This is like way back when people said that Techno's pulsing beats could give you a heart attack if you stood too close to the speakers at concerts.
Maybe 1 tool's gonna freak out and do a backflip on a few lego's but that's as dangerous the Oculus' ever gonna be.
I bet when television was new, there were newspaper articles saying it would drive people insane or something. Everytime some new technology comes out, people are lining up to doomsay how it will end civilization.
Denny Unger believes that the technology is so immersive that the first incidence of someone being scared to death, is not far away.
What is grammar?
Someone has been watching way too much Sword Art Online.
(Sorry if this is late due to a video posted before, I'm definitely not going to check on this 56k connection.)
It's true, back when movies were new, people were more engaged and curious about the media, that they got so dragged into it that they got heart attacks.
When videogames in the arcades were new, the same stuff happened.
The game Berzerk in the killed 2 kids for instance.
Also several people died playing 360 or Wii because of heart failure.
But that was becaue of anger issues or being completely out of shape for the Wii.

anything could kill you really
if I hit myself on the head enough times with a lid to a Tupperware container then I'll probably die at some point
although it would probably just be of exhaustion
no its funny
Maybe after one or two articles. It wears off really quickly when you see the influence they have over a large chunk of the British electorate.
That would be fucking metal
Too bad dailymail is full of shit
Imagine playing too much arma or Red Orchestra and getting PTSD :v:
I can see a game dev marketing this similar to how Dead Space 2 was marketed.
Never saw that video.
Funny enough, I enjoyed the Dead Space series quite a lot precisely just for the sole reason that it had some really messed up shit going on in it.
