It's best just to wait, until they're 16, then you really can't get into trouble, but what about Romeo and Juliet laws? If they're not 13 but not 16 then there can be a certain amount of years between each other to where no one would really get in trouble. Where I live. You can't be 5 years apart, so a 14 and 18 year old could be together but not a 14 and 19 year old. I'm not a lawyer and laws are different for each state, so don't quote me on that.

You can easily groom a child, "omg i love you so much and i just want to hav sex wif u <33 we'll get married when ur older and people will understand //_o " and whatnot. Just because it might be possible for a legitimate (blegh) relationship to develop between a minor and an adult shouldn't give them exclusions. The law exists to protect potential victims.

19 and 14 is a normal and healthy age to date at, I feel an arbitrary line in the sand dictating 'you can't tap that if it's under x years old!' is pretty stupid. There's people who are very responsible and mature at 14, and some who are irresponsible kids.

There's something wrong with law this days. Unless someone is a giant tight ass or is being a dick and wants to make an example of someone.
