Apparently the guys just walked into the mall with a gun in his hands and when some other guy noticed he told him he wasn't going to shoot anybody. He also allegedly hung around the Apple Store before firing. It could be that he was attempting some sort of theft, but we really wont know until all the eyewitness reports clear up and the real evidence comes around.
Just make guns illegal already, I'm sick of innocent people dying to push this agenda. No one is buying this "random attack" bullshit anymore. There's been too many too similar. Just do it and stop the needless bloodshed, I'm sure these tactics have worked enough to push it through. I'm also sure that the numbers have been inflated enough with this crap to have a justifiable drop in gun violence after they stop doing it.
Way to make this about your political agenda
Honestly considering the size of this place I would expect police from just about every town to be there.
Some lady calling ComEd thought she heard a gunshot over the phone when it was just a fire drill. Every cop from the surrounding area was called in to surround the building and then sweep it floor by floor. There will be even more considering it's a mall with lots of people.
It's near the upper part of the middle of New Jersey, it's pretty much where all the Northern NJ folk go for mall stuff This area is the most densely populated area in the country, and it's right near NY. FOUR GERMAN EXCHANGE STUDENTS FROM MY SCHOOL ARE THERE
Yeah I went to this mall on my trip to NY.
It's the same tactics North Korea uses to scare people. "random" events followed by enormous shows of military(police) force. Why don't we ask any of the numerous suspects of all these recent shootings why they did it, oh wait that's right they all "killed themselves".
lol
Are you seriously fucking ignoring 200 years of history in the US? What about our past makes you think that our government is incapable of killing people to push an agenda?
Because the government leaks like crazy. If there was a serious plan for a government backed genocide of civilians, people would literally purge every politician and government worker in the country.
I'm getting tired of this shit.
Shit politics + shit economy + guns = people getting fed the fuck up. I would certainly expect more in the coming years until people finally are finally done putting up with the joke that has become our economic and political zeitgeist.

Maybe one day we can go a whole page without mentioning gun control!

I hope this guy is figured out to be part of the patriot movement or an avid alex jones listener. Maybe it will drive alex off the air, maybe the government will put 'the patriot movement' on their big list of terrorists.
Certainly an unfortunate event for all involved..

Damn, thats alot of cops. It looks like he killed himself in the basement of the mall. what a fucked up country
goodnight sweet prince...
Any reports on injuries or casualties? I can't seem to find anything about that anywhere.

Maybe it will drive alex off the air, maybe the government will put 'the patriot movement' on their big list of terrorists.
That would just piss them off, and would probably bring in groups like the Oathkeepers and other Pro-14th and Pro-2nd Amendment groups into the Patriot Movement as a whole. Seriously, did people not learn from the bombings after Waco and Ruby? [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cb/Oklahomacitybombing-DF-ST-98-01356.jpg[/t] You shouldn't really try to push people who generally are already fumed about shit that they see as unconstitutional.
According to CNN, the shooter is dead after firing 6 shots without striking anyone. He shot himself in a back room.
(CNN) -- The gunman who opened fire at a New Jersey mall Monday night is dead after holing up in a back room at the mall and shooting himself, a local prosecutor said. Richard Shoop's body was found at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday in an obscure part of Westfield Garden State Plaza mall, hours after he fired at least six bullets without striking anyone in the massive shopping center. Can anyone explain why the U.S. are so plagued with school shootings / shootings in general? I'm genuinely curious.
Can anyone explain why the U.S. are so plagued with school shootings / shootings in general? I'm genuinely curious.
Very high population I think is a significant contributing factor. I am not sure that per person/citizen their shootings are above average.
Can anyone explain why the U.S. are so plagued with school shootings / shootings in general? I'm genuinely curious.
No definitive reason exists, the current and most accepted reason is that people are looking for a way to be seen as something or they are just a nutbag. Choose whatever. :v:
Can anyone explain why the U.S. are so plagued with school shootings / shootings in general? I'm genuinely curious.
Guns
The problem isn't the fucking guns (although most people DON'T FUCKING KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THEM), its the fact that the support we offer people in this country is a load of shit and practically non existent. Those that are mentally ill cannot get the support and or are not watched out for in our society, thus here we are looking at yet another incident that ultimately could have been avoided..
FOUR GERMAN EXCHANGE STUDENTS FROM MY SCHOOL ARE THERE
At least they get to experience the culture of the US.
Can anyone explain why the U.S. are so plagued with school shootings / shootings in general? I'm genuinely curious.
guns terrible two-party state that disenfranchises people guns terrible health services and care for mental health guns shitty media guns guns
The US is not the only country with 'mentally ill' people or inadequate mental healthcare
Nor is it the only country with shootings.
Nor is it the only country with shootings.
It ranks pretty badly for such a 'developed' country
I don't want to be the one to launch the debate but if the vast majority of gun owners do not commit mass shootings you cannot soundly say that guns are the problem. Everyone who is a shooter had access to a gun; 99%+ of people who have access to a gun are not shooters. We aren't sure how this one got his gun. It's too early to start saying that banning all guns could have stopped this.
Can anyone explain why the U.S. are so plagued with school shootings / shootings in general? I'm genuinely curious.
Very high population (if you have ten times as many people you're probably going to have ten times as many shootings after all), nonexistent mental health care, a media system that dramatizes and glorifies public shooters, and access to weapons suitable for carrying it out.
