I just saw this article. Shit, that's a while away from my hometown, and I actually visited that mall at times. The good thing is that no one got hurt at least.

If you want to debate about this then go to the Debate section. I came to this thread to see news updates on this shooting, not for people to tell me their opinions on gun laws.

I feel that this is more sad than anything really, I feel as if he did this because he felt that when he would kill himself nobody would notice so he got quite a few peoples attention. Or he realized that he cant kill anyone and then killed himself, which isn't as sad. But either way a troubled young man killed himself.

Anyone arguing for a full across the board gun ban does not know the challenges that would bring. Namely, disarming staunch conservative gun owners (of which there are very very many), and disarming militias, many of which will fight back violently. We'd have Waco's and Ruby Ridge's all over the country in a matter of weeks. Frankly, we'd probably need martial law and troops on the ground to help with it, as there aren't enough police in the nation to pull off such a massive operation.

Making guns illegal wouldn't stop this, because a part of the problem is the gun culture that is omnipresent and the media that glorifies the shooters.
