[Update] Evolving Robots Learn To Lie To Each Other
See, thats the attitude that makes them want to kill you. What the hell do you think slaves were? They weren't considered people. They were considered animals and tools. What makes you different than a sentient robot other than you're squishy and it isn't? A sentient robot can think, learn, and feel. It has emotions just as you do. How is it any different than you really? Its not.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but most people aren't scared of a robot apocalypse caused by the robots feeling oppressed, most people are scared of a robot apocalypse caused by robots thinking we're useless.
"Are you planning to take over the planet?"
"no"
I've never had that many funnies on one post.
Impossible, robots are programmed with these laws:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
Are you slow or something? They aren't programmed with laws like that, those are from that one movie or show or whatever (I forget). These are evolving robots and will evolve in an attempt to dominate each other.

I think that guy was just joking.

You are slow thinking they are from a movie or show.
They are laws from the greatest Science-Fiction Author of the 20th century, the laws are designed in such a way as to make sure the robot can be fully sentient, yet totally subservient.
I don't actually believe it, and even if it is true, something in the code made it do that. Robots don't have the capacity to learn or experiment like humans do. Just not possible.
yeah I mean popular science is such a bogus source it's probably fake like the moon landing

There's a market for hysteria like this. Honestly it just sounds like whoever made the code isn't giving the full story.
This is so late that I used an article about this as a reference in my freshman year of high school. I am now a junior. It's very interesting though, I must admit.

Dude, you don't know who you are accusing. The scientist behind this project is my favorite robotocist, and the original pioneer of artificial evolution in robots. He is very well respected, and a leader in the field of robotics.
Oh god I sound like such a nerd.

They're from I, Robot by Asimov. He was joking. Are you slow or something?

To the guy you quoted, they were programmed to find the best way to survive, not to dominate over one another. Some of the robots just found that by dominating, it became easier to survive. Do not state things as fact when you have not thoroughly checked the information.

Thats terrible logic. The code was the base, but not the cause. Thousands, hundreds of thousands, or who knows how many calculations based on various data picked up would result in a unique reaction. We do the same thing. People are nothing more than squishy, advanced robots. Our brain is just a computer, only with hyper advanced programming. These things, when they first started, were sort of like babies. They had basic functions, and that was all they were capable of, which were defined by their programming. The same thing occurs in newborns. They have no real intelligence, its all instinct. They have to learn from experience and from observation of others. Thats what is happening with these robots, they're learning from experience and observation.
