An assisted living home shuts down, and the staff leaves the residents to fend for themselves, excep

I love how its always the people you least expect that step up and do awesome shit like this.
My mother has been working around 20 years in a nursing home, and I've worked in the same place for a year. She would always talk about the residents and what happened daily. Obviously to see she cared.
I noticed the same when I worked there, that all the nurses were making sure the residents would have a more enjoyable life. Makes it so weird to read that nurses are always people who generally don't care.
Oh, and the government's lowering its funding yearly. Causes a lot of lay-offs and less time to spend with the residents. Wish they would change that
My brother works at an assisted living retirement home.
Let me tell you one thing, they would have to try to care less about the residents. It's extremely saddening.
it's a pretty well known fact that for whatever reason, nurses at nursing homes hate their jobs.
we can cut down on this if people fucking took care of their grandparents/parents by not shoving it off on someone else.
Take it this way a lot of people just don't have the time or ability or space to care for an elderly person as much as said elderly person would need to be cared for. On top of that, they may not be able to provide the necessary companionship either.
This warms my cold old heart ; u ;
lovely that officials finally did step in to lend assistance. The situation vaguely reminds me of those guys in the first season of the walking dead. At least someone cares, shame it wasn't the certified employees who were trained to help instead of a cook and janitor but at least they gave enough of a damn for their fellow man.
Man, first thing I thought of was The Nursing Home from The Walking Dead too.
Its so horrible that this would happen. Im glad somebody stepped in. When I was younger, elderly people like my grandmum and her friends always were there for me. They always had time for me, and I know that I will always be there for them to repay all that they had done when its needed. But abandoning these people is horrible - these are people not animals, they have loved ones and they have spent so much time on this earth and left a huge mark. You cannot just step up and leave these people behind.
Tldr: i like old people and this got to me
True badasses.
Wish there were more people like this; the world would be a vastly different place.
