• Geithner: We are ready to go over the fiscal cliff if the GOP won't raise taxes on the rich

Good point, yeah. I just figured it was odd, especially considering that Teddy's Progressive Party probably would be a blue faction right about now.
I wish we had someone like Teddy Roosevelt right now. Someone who was really willing to get in there and kick some ass. Metaphorically, of course.
i thought that whole sub-prime loan debacle was entirely their fault
In this thread, financial elite seems to be everyone that enjoys a certain level of wealth, like high-paid doctors, lawyers, CEOs, and so forth. The financial crisis was caused by a number of different things, and one of those things is Wall Street. So yes, a subset of the "financial elite" contributed to the crisis. But to say rich people in general caused the crisis is patently false.

It's not ideal, but it's better than cutting programs meant to help the poor & needy. Which the Republicans somehow has a raging hard-on for doing.
The average American survives on less than $40,000 a year. Yeah, sure, you can't get a nice house or car. My mother makes around $250,000 a year and we have a very nice house, a very nice Mercedes, and I have everything I could ever want. Bull shit a million isn't a lot.
A million isn't a lot to YOU, but it's 50x my family's yearly income.
Almost as ironic as conservatives using Jesus to back up their economic beliefs and the Founding Fathers to back up their belief in America as a Christian nation
[editline]7th December 2012[/editline] What's that? An actual critical video-game character?

Societal structuring and beliefs that is, technological progress is something different entirely.
