What I would like to know is if the same process could be applied to humans? Kidnap a small child off the streets, dip them in ice water, use sandpaper to remove the hair and waxy skin on the head, super glue circuit board to back, insert electrodes into ears, etc?
afaik this backpack works by manipulating the cockroach's senses to make it think there's an obstacle in front of it, and tricking it into moving itself where you want it to go - it's not aware that it's being manipulated because cockroaches are like easily predictable machines, and they just base their actions off of what data they're fed. this wouldn't work on like, a dog, unless it was a dog with the brain of a cockroach.
so to get it to work on a human you'd need someone with literally no sense of self at all, and you'd probably also have to make them blind and deaf as well. lucky for small children everywhere, it wouldn't be anywhere near as simple as just plugging some wires in and there you go, you'd need to completely break down their brain, redefine their mindset, and change their senses until they're completely unrecognizable.
anyone who thinks this is a humane idea should be wired up to one of these chips.
