I swear these 'experts' are fuckin retarded. Find me a teenage boy that DOESN'T play video games.
I know a kid. He claims he's "an intellectual who doesn't need such lowly forms of menial entertainment."
Instead he claims to spend his time "writing his own stories to amuse him self as they are superior in every way to the works of inferior minds."
Spoiler: He's the worst writer I have ever seen. I helped my old English teacher sort papers into piles by class and I happened to find one with his name, read it, needless to say it received the worst grade of all her classes.
Then why is "Grand Theft auto" listed separately?
Sheese who cares really they've made a mistake because they didn't know better, it doesn't matter really. Obviously most people on facepunch would be know better but what can you do

These confirm that he had a Steam account. I wonder if anyone could find it. I'm honestly interested in the types of screenshots that he's uploaded, or whether we could get an interview from a Steam friend (if he had any..)
Grand Theft Auto is a shitty rip-off of Vice City.
They are undoubtedly connected

"Authorities determined that Lanza reloaded frequently during the shootings, sometimes firing only fifteen rounds from a thirty-round magazine."

Reload, Dr. Freeman
Anyone who actually thinks that he used TF2, Half-Life, L4D, or Dead Rising to "simulate" a school shooting is just dumb.
what
It all makes sense now

No they don't. There were pictures of L4D on Xbox and the others could have been in the Orange Box.
Woah what? A person had hobbies, who the fuck would have thought.
Just a person like whatever activity or hobby does not mean that is a warning sign of a murder.
He prolly liked eating and staying hydrated, that must mean we all have a chance to murder.

I don't know has anyone else realized that whenever these threads are posted it's just page after page of everyone being sarcastic to eachother? It's just the same thing every time. I'm not one of those people who get obsessive over "contributing" and this might sound pretty wild but what if people tried considering the other side of the argument just a little so there's more discussion rather than these threads just being a release for everyone to go "HOH YEAH PFFFTTHHBPTPTPT RIGHT"
I honestly don't think there is ever much to discuss with these "are video games to blame?" articles, especially with this one, but it might be something to consider.

i often use tf2 to simulate school shootings due to it being a realistic portrayal of combat
Yo I bet he got possessed by Satan after playing Shin Megami Tensei
He grew six breasts, turned blue and started ranting about law?

I'm thinking the hamster photos were the reason now.

imagine how weird it'd feel if his steam profile was found...and you look and realize "oh shit he's in your friendslist"

Nah, this is a worthy WTF picture.
Quite honestly, it sickens me that this guy killed/injured so many people and many sources exploit his hobbies as an excuse to his shooting. What's the point in showing off his personal gaming life? Are you really that desperate to grasp at straws that you hint that fucking GAMES might be the cause?

"Last online yesterday"
Source was also kind enough to include a list of video games he potentially used to carry out simulations of the school shooting.

-"Left for Dead"

The shooter was specific about the clothes he wore. He typically wore the same clothing when at the theater: a grey hoodie and slacks.
It's all coming together now.
I use Dynasty Warriors to practice murder all the time.
"It's Lu Novangel! He's come to destroy us all!"
I used tf2 crafting system to learn how to make weapons.
I thought DDR as in East Germany.
Should we be giving the shooter this much attention? Wouldn't it be better to not do that?

people who play stepmania with a linear key layout instead of traditional arrows are scientifically proven to be a danger to society
Seriously the people I know who are obsessively competitive about DDR have the worst tempers, I know a dude who got banned from our arcade for egging someone's car in the parking lot after they beat him

I did at least find his profile on Sega's forums, with the majority of his posts being in the Phantasy Star Universe boards (The police report mentioned him playing a lot of Phantasy Star Online), and his AIM screenname listed being "DancingAbyss" (DDR much?) and all of his posts reeking of being severely autismal (Although not unsurprising on a gaming forum, it DOES match the profile of the suspect). Unsurprisingly his username was Lanza though :V
http://forums.sega.com/member.php?10016-Lanza if anyone wants to look into what kind of garbage he posted as a free man.

Disturbingly enough I know a few people who play Counter-Strike with a linear-layout for everything and say it's a "pro-layout" with a straight face.
I'm still trying to figure out how SDFG keys for movement is a pro technique.
Adam Lanza was obsessed with video games, drove repeatedly to a theater to play Dance Dance Revolution for four to ten hours.
That might've had little to do with what happened.
..and had a strained relationship with both parents, to the point where they communicated with him only by e-mail.
This probably had a whole lot to do with what happened.

I
wha?
(aside from me binding to IJKL as a lefty I'll keep example WASD)
the only alteration to the [WASD] shape is to change it to [WQSD] so your arm can rest at a more natural angle. I've found with games that grant me strafing alongside turning (adding [Q/E] as strafe left/right), I'll maintain mouse view control (so turning becomes strafing anyways) and rest more with my ring finger up on the [q] instead of [a]
doing anything like a linear layout sounds like a forced "I heard this guy does it and he's a pro it must be a pro thing I wanna be pro" situation. Stepmania you can argue more for having linearity but removing the actual up/down/left/right pattern associations for lefter/left/right/more right is lazy and does nothing for your ability to play on-foot since a lot of things require muscle memory for patterns.
This probably had a whole lot to do with what happened.
one does have to ask what caused this strain. It can still be attributed to his habit of spending all his time gaming if he was one of those types, but that in itself could be the cause of a social disorder, and so on. It's a matter of "how shallow does the media really have to dig to strike a nerve and get views"
News flash: someone who mercilessly killed small children had interests like a normal person. It's kind of a scary thought isn't it that a mass murderer actually you know, like, did stuff that everyone else did. Makes you really think that the line between "monster" and "normal" isn't that much.
omg guys, i just noticed that ALL mass murderers that have ever existed have consumed this chemical known as water. i think the reason why we have all these recent school shootings is because michelle obama told people to drink water. yes. i've uncovered obama's secret plan to breed mass murderers.
