wha?
(aside from me binding to IJKL as a lefty I'll keep example WASD)
the only alteration to the [WASD] shape is to change it to [WQSD] so your arm can rest at a more natural angle. I've found with games that grant me strafing alongside turning (adding [Q/E] as strafe left/right), I'll maintain mouse view control (so turning becomes strafing anyways) and rest more with my ring finger up on the [q] instead of [a]
doing anything like a linear layout sounds like a forced "I heard this guy does it and he's a pro it must be a pro thing I wanna be pro" situation. Stepmania you can argue more for having linearity but removing the actual up/down/left/right pattern associations for lefter/left/right/more right is lazy and does nothing for your ability to play on-foot since a lot of things require muscle memory for patterns.

one does have to ask what caused this strain. It can still be attributed to his habit of spending all his time gaming if he was one of those types, but that in itself could be the cause of a social disorder, and so on. It's a matter of "how shallow does the media really have to dig to strike a nerve and get views"
everybody knows that using arrowkeys on a nice mechanical keyboard is the best way to play stepmania

clearly the microsoft surface's rubber keyboard is where it's at

I never really understood how people could play with 8 keys, just feels weird to me.

Personally I prefer using an on screen keyboard with my mouse with the layout QPZM to play.
"Doom"
Pretty hardcore shooting
"and had a strained relationship with both parents, to the point where they communicated with him only by e-mail."
And they think it was the video games
No, they don't. Facepunch has a huge persecution complex when it comes to video games and crimes. Its just listing what the police found out during the investigation, not possible causes of the shooting.
omg guys, i just noticed that ALL mass murderers that have ever existed have consumed this chemical known as water. i think the reason why we have all these recent school shootings is because michelle obama told people to drink water. yes. i've uncovered obama's secret plan to breed mass murderers.
Please read the fucking article. I have a feeling all you read was "Sandy Hook" and "video games"
Nah, this is a worthy WTF picture.
Quite honestly, it sickens me that this guy killed/injured so many people and many sources exploit his hobbies as an excuse to his shooting. What's the point in showing off his personal gaming life? Are you really that desperate to grasp at straws that you hint that fucking GAMES might be the cause?
Its a fucking list of what police found during the investigation, no one is suggesting anything
Woah what? A person had hobbies, who the fuck would have thought.
Just a person like whatever activity or hobby does not mean that is a warning sign of a murder.
He prolly liked eating and staying hydrated, that must mean we all have a chance to murder.
Holy dick guys
no counter strike, you would think if he was using these to learn how to do a school shooting he would have had that one
"Doom"
Eric Harris (Columbine High school massacre) was an enthusiast of the Doom series, owning some of the Doom novels and having designed Doom levels under the nicknames "REB", "Rebldomakr", and "RebDoomer". In a videotape recorded before the shooting, Harris expressed enthusiasm for the planned shooting, saying it would be "like fucking Doom." He also pointed out that the shotgun was "Straight out of Doom".
Figures, leave it to a chaosfag to kill everyone. At least a neutral player kills only his friends
No they don't. There were pictures of L4D on Xbox and the others could have been in the Orange Box.
So he was a console peasant? No wonder he went insane.
[editline]27th November 2013[/editline]
But really, I wonder if there will be a day in the twenty-first century where video games and a shooting are not related in any conceivable way.
These confirm that he had a Steam account. I wonder if anyone could find it. I'm honestly interested in the types of screenshots that he's uploaded, or whether we could get an interview from a Steam friend (if he had any..)
Objection!
Fun Fact: Team Fortress 2, Half Life (well 2) ) and Left 4 Dead are on the Xbox 360.

Actually im a lefty too and i play with WASD just because thats how i learned it/i have people seen doing it. but i have no sympathy for people who play games with arrow keys :v:

Not if it was actually Half Life as opposed to Half Life 2

Yep, reporting on a police report, nothing new.
Shin Megami Tensei
did he shoot himself to summon yugioh monsters or downloaded an app on his iphone to summon demons or something??
I thought the DDR in the title was referring to Communist east Germany. I was quite confused.
Can't say he doesn't have a good taste in video games. Shame he went down the path he did.

stout shako for 2 refined
So this kid has obviously terrible parents who only managed to communicate to him through email, yet video games are the sole reason he did what he did? :v:
It's funny the things the media will use as a scapegoat.
Sure, this kid may have enjoyed the video games primarily to soothe his violent urges; but it most certainly wasn't the primary cause of his mental state. Why doesn't the media attack bad parenting. I'd rather see the real problem pinned to a metaphorical cross than something like video games.

Literally nobody is saying this, it's just a police report.
