So him feeling empowered by stopping someone who:
Stopping in this context being shooting a fleeing criminal who is facing away from you multiple times. If you want to describe this as empowering then have the decency to not hide what occured behind vague words.
well, the kid shouldn't have had access to a gun in the first place
like I said before, there are parts of the country where your gun is your meal ticket. I grew up in one of those parts and had access to firearms throughout my childhood without incident. a child is just as capable of being smart with a gun as an adult, and an adult is just as capable of being an idiot as a child. I'm proof of the first, and you can look all over youtube for proof of the second. an adult without training is just as good as a child without training, and a child with training is just as good as an adult with training. maybe even better, as 5 year old me didn't have any wrong ideas or bad habits to break the first time I pulled a trigger.
use deadly force if you have it as the only possible resort, not because "you must defend your possessions at all cost" and the kids story makes no sense..
It somewhat does considering that fact that the guy had robbed the joint on multiple occasions and told the kid "I'm going to fucking kill you"
It somewhat does considering that fact that the guy had robbed the joint on multiple occasions and told the kid "I'm going to fucking kill you"
well they said they have no clue who he was and that he "probably was a methhead". also since the story was fishy as heck, I don't believe he ever pointed a gun at the kid. If someone can draw the entire scenario from start to finish from that 5min interview and it making some sense, feel free. The thief apparently didn't have to break in either, he just walked through a door that was open. I admire the kid for not being phased.. but everything else about it is shameful on the parents behalf.
I cant believe this thread is still going on but..seriously? "shameful on parents behalf" because some cunt that broke in before walked in their house and threatened to kill an 11 year old and he was shot while running away? You dont believe he pointed a gun at the kid based on...what?
I ocassionaly click on this thread just to see whats happening, you guys seems to be going around the circles :v:

Parents shame lies in: leaving a kid alone when there are known multiple burglaries in the area, no security in the house (thief able to just walk in), and lack of education when there is an imminent threat.
Parents shame lies in: leaving a kid alone when there are known multiple burglaries in the area, no security in the house (thief able to just walk in), and lack of education when there is an imminent threat.
This would mean that no child can ever been left alone in my neighborhood.
Wow this kid is a real badass. I'm glad to see some boys are still being raised to be men these days, unlike most who are being raised to be pussies. Women need to let dads be dads again, like this boys father is.
Ok but how about shaming the robber for breaking the law?
But that makes sense, and the main rule of the blame game generally is that it cannot make sense who or what you blame. You blame variables like a lack of education or poverty, you blame bystanders and individuals who in truth had very little (or nothing) to do with the case, you blame the actual victim themselves and accuse them of going too far in their actions against the true perpetrator... you blame everybody and everything except the person who, you know, is entirely responsible in the first place (in this case, the burglar). Personal responsibility and holding people accountable for their actions (instead of trying to pawn the blame off onto others/other things) are dead concepts anymore. Like I've said before I don't know how many times, this is a basic fucking social contract to follow: don't start trouble, there won't be trouble. Don't break into people's houses, don't steal from them, don't threaten them, bully them, or actually try and do terrible things to them... and there won't be any issues. The second you break this social contract, it doesn't matter what happens to you. You brought it upon yourself, and you (and only you) are to blame. The victim of circumstance/"society has failed this individual" arguments stop working after a while; there comes a point where we must have a standard of personal responsibility that's expected of people and a willingness that goes along with it to directly hold them accountable for whatever harmful thing or things it is that they might have done with themselves against others. Jesus Christ, the mental gymnastics some people will go through to justify their most inane and utterly pointless philosophical beliefs are as impressive as they are stupid. This guy is lucky considering what he did. He's really fucking lucky he didn't end up dead. If this hasn't taught him a lesson, then nothing will. Hopefully if he ever tries this again, he winds up getting killed before he kills or injures some innocent person just minding their own business.
