I have to say as tragic as it is, I don't think the cop was very much in the wrong. Dog bites are fucking painful and if one's clamped on your leg, there's not much time for rational thinking other than "what stops this quickest". At the end of the day if worse came to worse, it's a human life versus an animal's.
I don't think its wrong that they had to kill the dog to save a cop's life. I do think its wrong that the whole reason it happened (the drug search) produced no results.
Huh? Are the police retarded or something? There are no dangerous breeds of dogs, this misconception comes from the people that raise the dogs to be dangerous. A mean Doberman Pincer or Rottweiler is a causation of the person or circumstance when the dog was raised. The only dangerous "breeds" of dogs are when you do something dumb like breed a dog with a wolf, coyote, dingo, etc. and expect them to behave in a domesticated manner. Calling those breeds is a real stretch because they aren't dogs anymore after that, they're something else.
there's the misconceived behavioral danger and the real notion of physical danger. an angry chihuahua is going to do a lot less damage than an angry gsd
dogs aren't mindless killing machines, when they get hurt enough they will fuck off, sure maybe they'll fight to the death if you hurt them so much they can't get away but generally (like most animals) after they get hurt enough they're gonna run or stop. i wonder how pack based animals who's social order is based on dominance survived when every fight ended in death?
dominance is a very shaky term to use. the very rare instances of contesting a position is not the same as fighting to attack/defend
Dogs kill people all the time, and it's not as though they're sneaking up on people and instantly killing them from behind or something. If a dog kills someone, it's because that person lost a fight with a dog. Like I said, if the dog runs away I'm of course not going to chase after it. I'm probably going to be too injured to do that anyway. But if it isn't leaving I'm still going to consider it a threat.
alright all i'm saying is that i find it hard to believe you can 'stomp to death' a dog in self defense
alright all i'm saying is that i find it hard to believe you can 'stomp to death' a dog in self defense
Depending on what kind of footwear you have I don't really think it would take much to kill a dog by kicking it, honestly.
alright all i'm saying is that i find it hard to believe you can 'stomp to death' a dog in self defense
Grabs onto one leg, you fall over, and use the other leg to kick it in the head until it lets go? If it let go because you killed it, grats you just stomped it to death.
Well, i'd trust the chiuaua better than i would trust a gs or pitbull
well i'm not sure if you know this but dogs do not have the mental capacity to deceive. you can trust all dogs to do as they intend
you both seem to have an odd definition of stomp
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/stomp
Usage Note: Stomp and stamp are interchangeable in the sense "to trample" or "to tread on violently": stomped (or stamped) to death; stomping (or stamping) horses.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/stamp
To bring the foot down onto (an object or surface) forcibly.
? I consider bringing it down due to being in the same direction as the other leg. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stamp
2 a (1) : to strike or beat forcibly with the bottom of the foot
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/stamp
1. to strike or beat with a forcible, downward thrust of the foot.

So the dog literally died for no reason? At least that's the way I understand it.
No, the dog was literally killed because it bit the officer and then the owner couldnt restrain him. Your understanding is wrong.
So it sounds like the dog attacked the cop? What do people expect? If anything attacks a cop it's going to get shot/killed. It's a fact of life.
