Wait, he was allowed to sleep? I don't get it then.
He was allowed a 10 minute break every hour, he saved them up and used them to sleep
"The game now also hold the records for the most money generated in a day for any entertainment release - including the Harry Potter and Star Wars film releases."
wow
135 hours, non-stop... except for breaks, eating, and sleeping.
That's not that spectacular.
135 hours of sweat, dirt and skin debrie all pilling up a disgusting molehill of crap on his controller.
Sign him up for the military. He is ready.
Doesn't matter what game you're playing - a 135 hour session would get pretty boring within the first 3 for me :v:
What I find really unbelievable is that he's only 28. Just looking at his pictures, I would guess mid-30's at least.
Maybe it's the beard and haircut, but it just doesn't sit well with me.
Also, I don't know why people do this. It's an achievement that will get you nowhere and I guarantee we'll all have forgotten about it by the end of this week. If it even takes that long.

He was only allowed 4 hours of breaks a day, 20 hours of gaming every day is quite spectacular

It might be because he looks fucking exhausted
Most i ever did was Mass Effect 2 for 35 hours straight for charity. I might have been able to go for 60 but i worked the day before so i was tired.

Lot's of people (especially in South Korea who are amazing at Starcraft /meme) have died due to failure of important organs such as the heart, lungs, liver, brain among other things after playing for hours on end. Sometime's non-stop. Saying that 135 hours, which is over 5 days by the way, is not that spectacular is a really dumb statement. It's kinda an achievement for the human body because I would expect most people to pass out at 40+ hours.
King of the poopsock kingdom
Isn't that deadly?
He ate, drank and even slept a bit during that time (by stacking up his permitted 10-minute breaks). That's exactly what people who died from extended gaming sessions didn't do. Extreme-sports people do things like cross-country multisport races with high physical activity that also take days to complete, yet they pull through by taking in light meals and occasional 1-hour sleep breaks - THAT is impressive.
Wow and i thought i was sweating it when i played guild wars 2 for 12 hours a day when it came out
He looks extremely sleep deprived in those pictures.
I expected the word "Dies" to be on the end of that title.

Good observation
I think the thing that gets me about this story is that he probably sees himself as some kind of super hardcore gamer, yet he's actually one of the biggest casuals to ever grace the earth. I'm not even saying that because Call of Duty is a popular title, I'm saying it because it's a very shallow, very approachable, easy-to-play game which doesn't pose any kind of challenge to play for a long time without break. I could stare at a wall for 135 hours and people would think I'm insane. I don't believe that playing a video game, aka a source of entertainment, for an extended period of time should be seen as an achievement or warrant some kind of acknowledgement.
Then again, this is journalism grasping at straws as usual.

Don't you mean ", dies"?

Maybe it's the fact that he just played Black Ops 2 for 135 fucking hours
I guess that's one way of getting to prestige 5.
He could have at least picked a good game to do this. [sp]I'm joking, I haven't played it so I can't judge it, only say the typical "milking the cow" thing[/sp]
I've played it.
He could have at least picked a good game to do this.

Those pictures were taken about an hour after he stuck the disk in and realized what a mistake he's made. :suicide:
He was only allowed 4 hours of breaks a day, 20 hours of gaming every day is quite spectacular
Sounds like my regular week, except the 20 hours are just spent mostly in front of a PC working instead of gaming.
why
just why
ANY game for more than 2 hours tops makes me feel fuckin' sick
like, I love playin' vidya, and yeah on days with friends I play way more than I should, but jeezus louizeus what a stupid record to hold
Damn. I couldn't play on a console for 5 minutes, let alone 135 HOURS.
What a depressing experience that must have been, twiddling those little sticks for so long.
ten minute break every hour
Equates to 4 hours of not having to play per day

Guy's Friend: "I got fucked by my girlfriend and enjoyed the wonderful outdoors."

I'm assuming the guy is you.
Where has the time gone?
Looks like he has competition:

Why would you do that?
The single player campaing is like 2 hours long. He must be a total n00b at that game.
