What is your answer. Forcing people to do things they dont want to? Holding their hand while they piss?
The war on drugs is a money pit and you know it.
Rehabilitation? Why do they need to go to jail in the first place? To punish them for being addicted?
Addiction isn't exactly an opt in and out ordeal; it takes a lot of effort to shake off, especially if it's a hard drug like meth.
So pretty much what i said, except you want it forced upon them
The jail gets them sober. If they want they can enter treatment. They're not going to be forced to stay clean
Yeah except prison doesn't get people sober and turns them into violent criminals so what's your point? The war on drugs has completely failed, it just doesn't work.
Makes me wonder, say you go in for manslaughter and save someone's life while in, should your sentence be cleared since you effectively broke even? :v:

Aren't you dead, Kilgrave?

A drug rehabilitation center is a completely different facility compared to a prison. One tries to help you while the other punishes you. Sending addicts to prison is a fucking stupid idea. That's like sending mentally ill people to prison, you don't help them overcome their problems by locking them up. It only makes things worse.
I'm fine with the war on drugs, I just think it should exclude weed completely is all, and any weed convictions should be erased. From everyone's record. As well as possession for anything less than an amount law enforcement would consider enough to sell
Caught with two hydrocodone in your pocket? Big effing deal. Caught with 60? Then you arrest them
this video does talk about why the war on drugs failed and i think its quite intresting

what's enough to sell though? an eighth? an ounce? back in high school people would bring a zip and sell that much a day, but just about anyone could smoke a zip in a couple of days. leaving that up to police discretion isn't a good idea
