but how would you order a new one if your computer is dead?
Laptops,Tablets,Smartphones son or Friends just ask them to use their Computational Device.
sadly this won't be international
Seems more publicity than anything. Look how small the box is in that video. What are you getting ordered that that's small that you need in 30 minutes. It'll be niche for a while I admit but I really am excited for when this is more capable.
In the video they said it covers 86% of items delivered.

Amazon now offering livestock delivery
Now someone edit in the yellow Amazon box in instead of the pig...
I'm certain that the drones are equipped with GPS trackers of some sort so Amazon can see exactly where they are. So good luck stealing one without them knowing.
They should also be made explosive and armed with machine guns for these situations.
this is stupid amazon should just build conveyor belts up to everyones door
[editline]1st December 2013[/editline]
exactly, like conveyor belts
I don't see how a drone will be able to deliver all my giraffes

i've seen some rc flyers use quadcopters or whatever they're called. they're really cool and futuristic. you can tag a spot, anywhere you want, which your copter will fly to should it be damaged, run low on battery or if you just told it to. and they're not that expensive either.
1) order drone delivery of random $0.05 screw to someone else's doorstep
2) camp in the bushes
3) wait for the drone to land and grab it
4) turn it off / disconnect power supply
5) hack it
6) load it with homemade explosives/molotovs/whatever with a dispensing mechanism
7) laugh, as you watch the world around you burn with the drone moving around and dropping molotovs
7) ???
8) profit? or perhaps not
You would also need to order the delivery via a paypal that cannot be connected to you, so that theres no way of amazon tracking you down.
cars are stupid roads should just be conveyor belts
Are you nuts, man? Cars on conveyor belts.
Fuck. My coworker called this three years ago and said it would be done within 8 years. I said 20. Fuck.
Manhacks in 20 years, calling it now
My friend argued this would be intrusive and cause less jobs.
That's a fucking stupid argument, honestly.

not really? jobs are kind of important
not really? jobs are kind of important
New inventions and convenience is bad for the economy.
Right.
not really? jobs are kind of important
Well they aren't, in a way. They are only *vitally* important because we live in societies that almost purposely make it hard for unemployed people to find work and get education.
If you're doing a job that an emotionless, non-thinking robot is easily capable of doing, what does it say about the value and quality of your own life? People who become obsolete at their job should seek higher education, and government/s should support them financially while they are doing so.
register for your own personal amazon uav with a security deposit would be the best anti-theft idea

It's been proven time and time again that technology doesn't replace jobs.
Now i'il be able to play Space Invaders fo realz :v:
