glaber's threads still suck though
Oh yes they do.
Bush instigated, Obama followed suit.
You can't really pin it on either one of them wholly.
Again, I'll put a whole buncha blame on Bush. When he cut taxes and raised spending WHILE A WAR WAS GOING ON, he pretty much got the ball rolling. Well, it was already rolling, but he certainly gave it a kick in the right direction.
I don't think he intentionally did it. If the war had been over in 6 months as he thought it would, then his plan would have worked out fine. Because the war dragged on for so long, we went from having an actual surplus (200B, I believe?) into spiraling debt.

And that brings us to a point where we must debate how necessary the war actually was, and that's where I'm going to leave.
I can appreciate a good political discussion now and then, but honestly, nobody wins:
THE WAR IS A CASH COW MADE OF BULLSHIT THAT ONLY WANTS TO KILL THE ECONOMY
vs
THE WAR WAS NECESSARY AS FUCK AND (if we found WMD's) WE'D ALL BE DEAD WITHOUT IT
I'm not discussing the war's purpose, whether or not it was necessary, anything like that. I'm making a purely economics point - that lowering taxes while raising spending and going to war is one of the worst ideas ever.
How the fuck can healthcare be something undesirable? Isn't it the main priority of any sort of government to provide medical attention to it's people so, you know, they actually have people to govern instead of a landfill of corpses?
Hell, the only point I've ever agreed with an american republican is that Chavez is full of shit. I really, REALLY don't see the point of going radically against any measure that a democratically elected government does. To the contrary of a non democratic, ultracorrupt and disastrous one like Venezuela's.
*Puts up flame shield before entering*
What about Obamas Health Care Reform thats gonna cost almost a trillion dollars?
When we are in a recession? But i mostly blame the people in congress...
Everyone needs to cut spending and lower taxes, Not spend more money on something that in the end is probaly useless due to the fact that current health inssurance is fine(Correct me if wrong). Its just the matter of the economy.
Obamas 'Stimulate package' did next to shit nothing. We don't need the goverment promoting economic growth. Private buisnesses do.
Just saying ya know...*Charges flame shield to maximum strength*

I think removing stupid taxes and reducing spending would be a better idea.
Opinion articles from right wing websites is not news, Glaber.
is there no end to your stupidity?
If health care reform is so 'Good' then why dont they spill the beans on the contents. And why are they(Dem/Libs) so persistent in passing it when a high majority of people dont want it (Guess what FP, You arn't a majority...)

Ugh, stop making shit threads. I mean, there isn't even any content; you just walked in here with the intent of pissing people off. Do you know what that's called?
Don't feed the troll, guys.

Yeah, and using them on what? True, it's expensive, but hell, healthcare actually benefits most in a way. I'm assuming most of you don't go to public hospitals ( Something that doesn't even exist on my country ), for whatever reason.
What would you rather pay? The 150 bucks for a doctor visit every time you get sick or just heading down any hospital, getting checked and walking out alright paying nothing ( or atleast, not that much ). If the world is coming out of a recession, then what's the point of making people who are just starting over again pay for clinic bills and private doctors and the like?
Let the private sector grow. It happened in WWII and it will happen now.
Lol, it's not that simple

Actually a majority of people want a public option
