It's always the quiet ones...
I'm not sure whether we should just send tons and tons of jokes to the CIA and the FBI in the form of tips and reports or if we should simply unite and post bomb threads all over our Twitter and Facebook accounts.
I've got a fucking brilliant idea. Let's all start posting this kind of shit all over the web. Yeah we will probably be arrested, but when the papers run the story "hundereds of thousands of teens arrested over thought crime charges" people are bound to wake the fuck up.
Wake up to what? OH GOD NO POLICE ARRESTING SOMEONE OVER A POSSIBLE SERIOUS THREAT FUCKING NAZI POLICE STATE BRITAIN LET'S GO GET OURSELVES ARRESTED YEAH GOOD PLAN!
Holy mother fuck, OP. I was watching"1984" just last night.
I don't know why people say stuff like that, it is just common sense to be honest. With all that goes on today - inless you live under a rock you have no excuses..anyone who watches the news and knows what is going on will know that it is a truly stupid thing, specially to post it online. Sure say it to your buddy when no one else is around..but to post it? Common, that is just dumb.
Yes because real terrorists totally post about their plans on a completely traceable website. Be definition the police are terrorists as well, they're using terror to get people to give up their rights.
da uk is headin for a totalitarian dictatorship xddd
ffs [editline]05:24PM[/editline]
I've got a fucking brilliant idea. Wake up to what? What if the police did nothing, and it turned out he was deadly serious. They'd have blood on their hands. They respond to things like this incase they turn out to have some truth behind them. If the person they arrest turns out to innocent, they'll be released.

Something like one half of the western world is trying to lead us toward a more progressive way of thinking and a better understanding of the world around us, and the other half, made up of republicans, soccer moms , religious nutjobs and nationalists everywhere, is trying to drag us back into the dark ages.
Oh shit man they investigated a terrorist threat then released the guy when it turned out he was innocent. This is like Nazi Germany all over again.
this makes me very scared
"Making jokes about terrorism is considered a thought crime..." Wait what? A thought crime? Has George Orwell taught us nothing!?
Uhh, that was some person commenting about it, that's not what the government said... Besides, the police catch loads of real terrorists every year due to tip-offs like this one. So either they're saying that we shouldn't worry about catching terrorists or because he was white it shouldn't apply to him? Separating people in the eyes of the law based on their religion is pretty much admitting defeat and letting the fear-mongers win anyway...
The government needs to know when to do such things like this. Rather than just fucking this guy over they just could have watched him and nothing more. If he really looked like he was going to blow the airport up, then they could arrest him. Until the comment on twitter should be just regarded as another post with little meaning other than how pissed he is. Come on really would a terrorist put their plans on twitter?
Yes because real terrorists totally post about their plans on a completely traceable website. Be definition the police are terrorists as well, they're using terror to get people to give up their rights.
Well yes actually, they do, the stupider ones anyway. You just don't hear about them because they're caught, and no news agency is going to publish stories about the police actually catching criminals. What sort of logic is that anyway, if they had ignored it and it turned out to be a real bombing most people would wonder how the hell they could have missed it.
This has pissed me off so much I am totally going to kill all the police. That was a joke, but this is fucking stupid. It is the combination of the authorities irrational fear and lack of understanding of the internet and their inability to take jokes about anything, terrorism in particular. The whole terrorism scare is giving the terrorists exactly what they want; recognition, news coverage and disruption of our society.

Without direct investigation they'd have to watch him for weeks to make sure he was just joking, which would be a ridiculous thing to waste time and money on when you can just go arrest him. Besides, I'd prefer to be arrested and found innocent than to be covertly watched for several weeks by my government.
But it IS a police state.
How would you know, you're posting from an American IP address

O'Hare International Airport might not be around anymore after January 31 at 11:00am if you know what I mean.
I'm sorry, what were you all saying about Australia having retarded laws?
Banned Encyclopedia-Dramatica for being racist against Aussies. Not only is that against the whole idea of free-speech, but ED is an satire website. Aussies have no sense of humor and do not care for free-speech :rimshot: [editline]01:03PM[/editline] Well, it's fairly disturbing how they now crack down on thoughts. I kind of figured out that awhile ago anyway. People don't want you to show emotion, such as this guy's anger. Or you're going to jail or some shit.
Itt: 1984

That quote was from some liberal campaigner.

You have to go to court, which wastes tons of money and also gives the person a criminal record.

I went on ED last week to see if I was still man enough to handle the Offended page.
Read the news story and there you go. :downs:
Try reading.
The civil libertarian Tessa Mayes, an expert on privacy law and free speech issues, said: "Making jokes about terrorism is considered a thought crime, mistakenly seen as a real act of harm or intention to commit harm.
Just because some commentator called it that doesn't make it so. The government aren't going around telling people not to think bad thoughts, it is a completely ridiculous comparison. It doesn't even adhere to the definition of a thought crime anyway, this was a threat; whether or not it was stupid to follow it up is debatable, but reacting to it is certainly not really anything to do with crimethink.
Because a terrorist certainly woud post a message like that on Facebook. Of course.
