North East represent! Nice knowing you South. [sp]but seriously hope you guys are alright.[/sp]
We'll report back when it's over. or not.
We'll report back when it's over. or not.
You guys will be fine, it'll just blow over.
-snip-
I missed the london comic con because of personal affairs, I live in wales, maybe I'm lucky I didn't go?
'Blow over'.... A few trees, houses, ya know... (How UK overreacts to 'Extreme' weather)
Its the Britsh way! At the moment Im in between being worried and the usual "pfftt its only a light breeze".
Why do I have to live in Kent? We're dead...We're Dead. :tinfoil:
The collapse of the British empire
Even Nottingham is in the red zone, and that's nearing the North more than the South
I would be typically British and say "God Save The Queen" but apparently he wants her dead.
south east rip me nvm flagdog shows me as american i'm safe
ugh
I like how a ton of Brits take every opportunity to take shots at America but now there's some 80mph wind and all their panties are flying off.
Yeah. right? I mean 80mph wind gusting at you is nothing right? I mean, so what if some power lines come down and trees block the road, right? Pfft pussy stuff, let me adjust my stockings and smooth out my skirt. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] On an ironic note, it's 6:46AM here, on the south coast, and the rain has hit us, but the wind has not.
Don't scare me like that OP. Like 1 hour of sleep and woken up by crazy loud winds, come on FP to see this thread, fuck you.
Living in NJ right here. Feel for you English FPers, wouldn't wish anything like Sandy on others. Fucked up a lot of people's lives I know. So stay safe I guess.
it's hilarious how everyone thinks wind is going to blow down brick and mortar. if anything America would be worse off because of all the wooden houses. Everyone always blows these warnings out of proportion and seems to think it's the start of the apocalypse every time the met office tells us to be careful.
Yeah, straight-line winds are nasty shit, but they're not that big of a deal when you compare them to other things. Things like tornadoes, which if they're big enough, will blow over brick houses without mercy. Just stay inside, and try not to give in to the urge to tether yourself to something and wear a deployed parachute. (it's a powerful urge, but I will tell you now that it will only lead to pain, suffering, and a broken pelvis)
Looking forwards to it, unless it fucks up the trains tomorrow.
Yeah I'm looking forward to it, I'm in the midlands (coventry), still gonna get hit. my brother is in Hamble next to Southampton, and he has to walk 30 mins to work
Really just watch out for falling trees and/or limbs. Had a close call last night where a huge limb landed 6 inches away from my house.
I live in Gloucester, and that's basically in the heart of the red zone rip
There's a high chance of it coming to where I live apparently, and according to my Mum the last time this happened in the 80's it was fucking pandemonium. If I don't post after Monday you can presume the hurricane came and took me to a better place.
My Mum slept through the one in the 80s. :v: But I'm right down the bottom, just over a huge hill. This could go either way. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] oh god the driving rain last night [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] dat automerge
rip me and everyone else in Wiltshire/south west England
Cwmbran guy here. The dark clouds are approaching.
How many Welsh Facepunch people are there? We can all find a place to huddle up together
Pontardawe represent here. rip us
It's nice and sunny here right now, calm before the storm I guess.
ITT: everyone in the south posts where they live
I was sneaky and said I live slightly more inland than Southampton, they'll never know I live in Romsey.
Near the north coast of Cornwall at the edge of a valley, it's... quite windy. Also, apparently the only reason it isn't a red weather warning is because the chance of it happening is too low... Right in the danger zone, and in a 16 story tower block too. Shits gonna get real, we even got a message from accommodation.
Bring it on, fam.
I knew living in leeds would be good for something, shweet
