I'd heard they were closing down the road. The weather was starting to get pretty bad as I left work at 5PM today, the wind is definitely starting to pick up.
Also, the BBC keep showing a video of man clearing leaves out of drain. Not sure if that's supposed to be reassuring or what?

Might have difficulty with the trains, depending on what time you're travelling. If you're driving shouldn't effect things too much unless you're actually driving during the storm or something major fucks up.

I'm in East Anglia on virgin and it's working fine, can buffer a 1080p video no problems.

I'm also in EA, although BT instead. Net has been kinda sloppy at times but it's working

Britain as a whole has always had strange weather. It's because of where we are on the planet.
Although Scotland is usually pretty consistent, I wouldn't say I'd be happy about it though.
