Yeah, and it's usually had catastrophic consequences that adversely affected the world for years after. It's not as simple as winning and losing. Even the "winners" suffer a great deal.
It's sad that I can list too many of these in the last 2 centuries, The 2 world wars Included
It's sad that I can list too many of these in the last 2 centuries, The 2 world wars Included
Do you have any idea what effect the World Wars had on us? They were incredibly taxing. Even the conflict in the Middle East has been disastrous for the American economy, and that is on a much smaller scale. A war with Libya and its allies would not be as simple as you seem to think.

I just somehow managed to find my way to the Battle Of Agincourt from this thread, on Wikipedia. Henry V was badass, managed to win against an army 5 times larger than his, go home to London to celebrate then a while later he managed to be crowned both King Of France and England.
It's a lot less boring than a no-fly zone :xd:
Oh yeah how else could we have material for all the new modern warfare games coming out?
I was replying to this and the Above post before you edited it.
Were you agreeing with me then? Usually when somebody has a complete change of opinion, it's wise to state it. I interpreted your comment as an argument.
The French weren't an army at that point, more like a bunch of farmers pointed at the english, Second the french got their shit together We got our arses rightfully kicked.
The French at Agincourt were well trained, well prepared troops - they just suffered from a terrible commander.
I can't Imagine Hitler asking to "borrow" as many jews as possible from around Europe.
It was in progress long before the war began
The French at Agincourt were well trained, well prepared troops - they just suffered from a terrible commander.
Let's not start this again, look up the Compagnie d'Ordnance (Or something) English got their arses kicked. But yeah Henry was p.badass.
THIS IS A THREAD ABOUT LIBYA DAMNIT
It was derailed by your obstinance.
The French at Agincourt were well trained, well prepared troops - they just suffered from a terrible commander.
Not to mention the absolute most horrendous terrain anyone could pick for the troop composition.
It was derailed by your obstinance.
And like a Crane I wish to re-rail it. World's a sad place yada yada. Can China Veto this? I assume they can.
And like a Crane I wish to re-rail it. World's a sad place yada yada. Can China Veto this? I assume they can.
They alone do not have the authority to stop it, and they are not going to have veto support if this is the case.
And like a Crane I wish to re-rail it. World's a sad place yada yada. Can China Veto this? I assume they can.
Russia, China, US, UK and France have veto powers (the 5 permanent members of the UNSC)
If the Arab League and the Rebels back this, then I say enforcing a no-fly zone is a good idea. Not only could we prevent the massacre of rebel forces and the continuation of a dictatorship, but the western world would gain good PR with the Middle East. Claiming to be fighting for democracy only works well when you are.
My vote is on a full invasion. Gaddaffi isn't even hiding his intentions of killing the rebels.
I like how OP refereed to a no fly zone as simple. It's easy to systematically destroy every airfield in a nation.
'Simple' was included to differentiate it from the third option, which was originally phrased as "A no-fly zone backed up by aerial bombardment". I forgot to take it out after rephrasing the third option.
