What he said might be debatably racist, but it wasn't just straight out racist. To me his motives seemed to be just making a joke that may have been in poor taste, but not outright racism.

Rush Limbaugh is a big dumb idiot because he says dumb shit.
Rush Limbaugh is one of the many people responsible for the current utter shittyness of the republican party and the right wing as a whole.

I am not suprised.

no, just amused that you're all upset over something trivial at best. i mean, read the title: 'astoundingly racist' ching chong is astoundingly racist? laughable. it's an elementary school joke.
but no, good heavens stop the presses this man said ching chong on television, thousands of years of chinese and hundreds of years of chinese-american culture has just been belittled and shattered over this insanely racist remark, what ever shall we do?
please... mr. jintao is a big boy, I'm sure he'll be just fine

The entire thing is fucking stupid. The ching chong thing is just a bad joke, I actually smirked when he started doing his impression. The offensive part is where it's bundled with the rest of his ignorance - he doesn't believe the translator, he tries writing down phonetically a language he doesn't understand, he goes over the top about the Chinese language. He just comes off as a big douche.

It's moreso the manner in which he said it and the 20 second absurd mocking of something he doesn't understand in a really exaggerated manner, but ok let's just go with you making fun of a blown out of proportion view of what's actually been said.
We already know he's racist toward black people and Hispanics; what difference does it make if he's racist toward Asians too?
Rush Limbaugh made a funny.

it's a term that has a history. It's an established racial slur no different from any other racial slur used against asians.

the issue isn't that the chinese president might get upset, the issue is that using the word "ching chong" means that someone is probably a racist, and it's a bad thing that a racist is the most listened to talk show host in america
Hu is in Washington DC?
Hu is meeting Obama?
Hu is the president of china?
Hu are you?

Those are puns based on his name.
They're offensive, but not quite as offensive as ching chong.
Remember the shitstorm when that fat lesbo bitch (not exactly a conservative, so no conservative persecution complex here) talked about "ching chong danny devito ching chong"?

That was in the wiki page, actually, it was Rosie O'Donnell.

That's who I was thinking of.
I remembered reading the Wiki page for ching chong a while back and not remembering her name but remembering what she said.
I only have one question: How is he still on the airwaves? I thought the FCC covered this sort of bigotry.
If anything Hu Jintao is the racist.
Chinese corporations actually hire white men to just walk around and be white.
Its like a sign of status if you have a couple white guys walking around your office.
Where do I sign up? I'm good at white things.
Where do I sign up? I'm good at white things.
Your avatar fits that well.
I think the major issue here is that this guy has a huge following. He's on the radio and should be held to the same standards as other radio hosts. Whether or not we consider this racist doesn't change the fact that when you're on the radio you are expected to hold yourself to a certain standard. This is a joke meant to be told among friends, not broadcast to millions(?) of people.
I only have one question: How is he still on the airwaves? I thought the FCC covered this sort of bigotry.
fcc only covers obscene stuff as far as i know
I only have one question: How is he still on the airwaves? I thought the FCC covered this sort of bigotry.
because luckily the FCC doesnt have a political bias.
I hope so anyway, The fcc is lame anyway,i hate all that ban this ban that bullshit
I actually agree on the ban this, ban that. That is a violation of freedom of speech. I think if want to tell the world that you're a racist asshole, go ahead. I don't even think Imus should have been suspended. Imus was supposed to be a shock jock. Rush Limbaugh is an asshole, and he can announce that to the public. If it were on a kids' network or something, it should have been removed, but primarily old white men listen to Rush Limbaugh, and he knows that. People should be responsible for what they say, and they can take some blame, but they should still have the right.
He's not a racist guys, he's a bigot and those are totally different :keke:

ugh you are the worst type of person.
ugh you are the worst type of person.
What? His statement that the FCC doesn't have political bias or the fact that it is disgusting how the FCC works?
This is was actually funny and chinas presedent is a dick.
Also if Morgan Freeman has taught us anything it is that things like this are only racist because we give them weight.
If you all brushed this off as mildly funny but not a big deal it would not be all that racist.
plus if the internet has taught us anything as well it is that 90% of all claims that something is racist comes form a white person.
ugh you are the worst type of person.
yeah the FCC Would be better if they had a strict Conservative agenda.
or a liberal one.
oh wait
