Then you dont completely support it.
I'm gay, and if you flaunt and advertise it, you're fucking stupid and annoying. Seriously, don't be a shithead.
I completely support gay rights but the way some people advertise and flaunt it is stupid and annoying.
God I hate when gays do gay things where I can see them Please stop having so much gay sex on the bench I'm trying to catch a bus
God I hate when gays do gay things where I can see them Please stop having so much gay sex on the bench I'm trying to catch a bus
I think the point is that some people would rather keep sexual discussion out of day to day life whether it be gay or straight.
I think people should be careful of the water in Canada too now...
I think the point is that some people would rather keep sexual discussion out of day to day life whether it be gay or straight.
Why should we just ignore it, it's not like asking gays to be less gay in public is going to solve anything, and they are still facing discrimination and hatred from society both at home and abroad
When will they take HIM down?
Oh just leave him there, give all his powers to the deputy mayor, and then we can lol at his antics all day [editline]7th February 2014[/editline]
I think people should be careful of the water in Canada too now...
What?
Then why, at the end, do we compare how many medals each country has won?
The media does that because it helps with ratings and individuals do that because we love finding reasons to feel superior to other people.
I'm gay, and if you flaunt and advertise it, you're fucking stupid and annoying. Seriously, don't be a shithead.
thnx 4 telling king of gay ppls
he's right.
I kinda have to agree I don't really see the point of it but I would just let them do it anyways. thought I don't agree with him when he says
When told the flag raising was meant to protest anti-gay laws in Russia, Ford replied: “Let Russia do what they want. We’re Canadians here.”

Then why, at the end, do we compare how many medals each country has won? It doesn't really matter what the charter says, it's a competition between nations to see who is the best at what sport and who can be the best at the most sports because that's how nearly everybody and every country treat it.
i dont know, maybe to reward the athletes that dedicate their fucking lives to getting into the olympics?
I walked by it today, the flag is still up. Ugh... goddamnit we need to get rid of this guy.
hot damn the tri-fecta! alcoholism, crack-addiction, and homophobia! i can't believe you canadians can't remove a guy from office for being a complete piece of shit
I think people should be careful of the water in Canada too now...
Is that a threat?
I completely support gay rights but the way some people advertise and flaunt it is stupid and annoying.
man this attitude annoys me. 'i support gay rights but I HATE EVER HAVING TO ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGE GAY PEOPLE EXIST' [editline]8th February 2014[/editline]
I'm gay, and if you flaunt and advertise it, you're fucking stupid and annoying. Seriously, don't be a shithead.
i'm sure all the straight people that hate your guts just because of your sexuality really appreciate this
the most oppressive thing in 2014 is having to see the pride flag a couple times a week
My parents and I were coming back from Cape Cod during the summer around the time SCOTUS ruled on DOMA and they had a pride flag flying high in Worcester and the first words out of my mum's mouth were "wow why don't we have a straight flag?" and I was just completely speechless. My parents aren't homophobic by any means and are very accepting and supportive of me being bisexual but..just..that..what..
But we do! [FIFTY SHADES OF GRAY]
that shit is p. bland. can we gay it up a little pls
that shit is p. bland. can we gay it up a little pls
No. Grey, white, and black are the best non-colour colours. [editline]8th February 2014[/editline] And blue-grey.
Why should we just ignore it, it's not like asking gays to be less gay in public is going to solve anything, and they are still facing discrimination and hatred from society both at home and abroad
First off, I never said it was my opinion, just that I understand theirs. Second, it's not about ignoring the issue - it's possible to campaign for gay rights without open sexuality if that makes sense. Imagine if you were uncomfortable with public display of affection or nudity, regardless of the sexes involved, and you came across a gay pride parade. That would be a little uncomfortable, but you could still totally want rights for gays, understand? Personally I don't mind, it's never bothered me, but for some people it can be a real problem
Then you dont completely support it.
I support Gay rights and don't think people should be allowed to walk around in the public wearing nothing but black tape.
Then you dont completely support it.
On the contrary, flaunting how gay you are is just as annoying as flaunting how <adjective> you are. What's worse is it seems like some gay people are so gay that... they're literally nothing else, it's almost like they discovered their homosexuality, threw every other personality trait out the window, and painted everything that remained with rainbows. I actually know one of these types of people, his name is Nathan. See, Nate was a pretty cool guy up until he announced he was gay, and then started being offensively gay toward everyone, especially the previously-established gay people. He slowly began hanging out with us less and less, until finally he ceased contact with us because we were all apparently either homophobic or self-hating homosexuals. We weren't, we just got really fucking tired of Nate trying to out-gay all the other gays and trying to insinuate anyone who wasn't openly gay was actually "at least a quarter gay but didn't know it." Sure it's great he's accepted who he is (kind of) and is open about it, but it's not great that he feels the need to force his magical gay life adventure on all of us. Oh, it's also not great that he tried to guilt everyone into agreeing with him by calling us homophobes and self-hating gays, that was definitely not great. These people are the Born-Again Christians of the gay community.
I support Gay rights and don't think people should be allowed to walk around in the public wearing nothing but black tape.
why not [editline]8th February[/editline] i don't like five-panels that doesn't mean i get to arrest you for wearing one
How is it offensive to you for straights to have a flag?
I never thought a straight flag is offensive, but I do think it's silly to have a straight pride flag. But if someone wants one let them have it. As I see it there's nothing prideful about being straight, while these days it can take a lot of courage to come out as an LGBT+ individual, a historically discriminated against demographic, where depending on where you happen to be in the world can result in pretty much nothing, constant bullying, or even execution performed by your own government, or whatever may be in between. Straight people have nothing to fight for, LGBT+ individuals do, nor did straight people suddenly get federal recognition of their marriages when that flag was being flown at the time.. Sorry if you thought my speechlessness came across as me being offended, it was just more of a "why??" especially when straight people only make mention of it when they see an LGBT+ related pride flag.
-snip-
It is interesting to see how many gays are also incredibly flamboyant. It seems like there's too many flamboyant gays for it to be mere coincidence, its as if they all feel the need to adhere to some gay sub-culture. Personally, I feel it's a bad idea, because they are just further separating themselves from everyone else and drawing further ire from bigots. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being flamboyant, I'm saying you don't have to be flamboyant. If anything doing so is perpetuating a stereotype when what they should be doing is displaying "Hey, yes, I'm gay, but that doesn't automatically make me different from anyone else." As a feminine male isn't automatically gay, nor is a gay male automatically feminine. TLDR Gay People should just be themselves.
that shit is p. bland. can we gay it up a little pls
Okay, here's the new Straight Pride flag: Wait... Something doesn't seem right...
Thing is, the rainbow flag doesn't stand for being gay so much as it stands for accepting a diversity of sexual orientations. Be that straight, gay, bisexual, etc. Collections of people identifying in one specific category that might not pertain to sexual orientation specifically, or to a specific sexual orientation, certainly have their own flags (trans community, bear community, asexuals). So yeah, if straight people got together and had "straight support groups" that might make sense to have a straight flag as these other communities do, but as it stands it really doesn't seem like that happens. What with self-identified heterosexual people comprising the largest percentage of the population. In general though, the rainbow is something that everyone who supports a diversity in sexual orientation and personal gender identification should be comfortable putting up. That's the point of it, after all - it's supposed to represent every type of orientation much as a rainbow shows "every" part of the light spectrum.
Lots of Canadian cities doing this, Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary, Halifax, St.Johns, Vancouver, even Whitehorse. Surprising Toronto of all places is having this problem.
