Can an American explain to me why anyone votes for Hillary? I understand that some might find Sanders too extreme, but Hillary has been lying throughout the campaign. Why would you ever vote for someone like that?
Name recognition and pseudo-liberal diversification
That and some people might think of Hilary's presidency like Bill Clinton's presidency in terms of economy.
The only reason I wouldn't vote Democrat is if Kasich somehow becomes the Republican nominee, but so far, it seems like its gonna be Trump vs Clinton.
That's been the major guess for a while. Tonight just finally confirms it.
But you're ignoring the part where people are genuinely wanting to vote for the WORSE option just because Bernie Bernt out.
At this point all that should matter is voting for the person that's legit best for the country for four years. And for me and others that's Clinton simply because she'll just be Obama's unofficial third term.
Yes, I'm voting for someone else in the general election if Bernie doesn't get the nomination. That's what most people tend to do because we have a terrible election method.
Also, I hate this "Clinton is just Obama 0.9" or whatever mentality; why? Why is that true, because she said so? She's said a lot of stuff, who knows if it's going to be true.
Further, to my view, we don't need Obama 0.8, we don't need the status quo, we need a shearing change. None of the candidates can really deliver that alone, and Sanders was the only one who was trying to start an entire movement to actually accomplish something, but since it seems that has failed, I'd rather throw a wrench in the machine than watch another 4 years of policy rot away at the country foundation.

We need her because the alternative is just too far right and extreme to also be a solid choice. You'd be throwing political caution to the win to "stick it to the man", only you'd be really just empowering him more by putting him in charge of the nation.
Sure you could argue Hiliary is no different, but she'll at least not shot on ethinc rights just because, she'll leave gay marriage and abortion alone.
You want to throw the wrench into the machine, what's not to say nothing terribly horrible could happen, and end up destroying [b] ALL [b] of us. Including me and you? Destroying over 200 years of this great nation just because some of you are fed up.
I'm mad about Bernie not winning too, but I'm not going to join your political suicide just to feel empowered for a short period of time.
But the issue is this, people aren't voting for Trump because they necessarily agree with him, they're voting for him for the absolute sole purpose of spiting his opponent and because Sanders didn't win.
To empathize, it would be no better to than to vote for Hiliary because she's a woman, or Obama because he's black.
I agree with him that these free trade deals are awful. Hillary, like Obama, will likely try and push through TPP and whatever else. That's what is important to me; securing American jobs. Sanders also wanted to do that--and much more--and I would have far preferred him because of it. But, to my view, Trump is the second best choice in that regard.

I will admit, Jobs are the only thing I can personally agree with Trump on. But the rest of him is just too against what I think is best for this nation to vote for him.
At the end of the day, the smart vote will go for the person who will keep things nice and stable for 4 years.
I think Bernie Sanders may have accidentally created President Trump
I think Bernie Sanders may have accidentally created President Trump
No he didnt, Bernie fanboys will create President Trump.
we call him "banned" and then "That guy that wiped his shitty ass with the Palestinian flag"
I did no such thing.
Cruz just lost Missouri in the middle of his victory speech. :vs:
Because it's obvious Sanders isn't going to win and the salt is pouring in.
Okay, how many times are you going to say people are "salty"? It's like "maybe if I keep saying 'salty' people will eventually find it funny" when it's really just annoying and childish.
People aren't happy their candidate isn't winning, shocker there, so you don't need to make like 20 posts about how 'salty' they are. Jesus christ.
Why are American elections so god damn confusing?

Well these are people literally threatening political suicide because someone didn't win.
Whose more childish really at the end of this night?

Did I say they weren't idiots? No I didn't.
Why are American elections so god damn confusing?
We could be saying the same thing about the rest of the democratic worlds electoral process.
I don't think our countries really teach about each others systems.
Did I say they weren't idiots? No I didn't.
Fair enough, I just use salt because it's a term I chose to use.

I don't get it, Obama was barely able to accomplish anything even with the majority near the start of his presidency, but somehow Trump is going to doom us all if he wins

They tried to teach us about it in canada, and it still confuses me. With how long it goes on I don't think so. We have like 6 months of this is why you should vote for this party, vote day for all of canada, choose party your agree with, wait and done.

Its kinda like I've seen this kind of rhetoric before, like 8 years prior to this election, I have a feeling it had to do with a certain someone being elected and the opposite side was spelling doom and gloom. :smug:
Cruz just lost Missouri in the middle of his victory speech. :vs:
he still has a chance but damn

This speech by Cruz literally contains every single detail of the stereotypical American. it hurts

I don't think he is meaning for it to be funny. What is funny is that people are so upset that their candidate loss that they are rooting for the polar opposite of said candidate.
If Hillary is nominated, I'm totally comfortable with just staying the fuck home... I live in California, it's not going to change anything...

Some of the shit being said this election is very reminiscent of this. I mean its a bit worse though admittedly.
Trump wouldn't have got this far if only the Republican party had got its shit straight in the beginning and nominated just two, three people for the primaries instead of 14. Even if the remaining candidates join forces he is very likely to win the nomination, and possibly the election with the sort of momentum he has going.
What happened to Bernie was predictable, honestly, it's not a shock. Politics are not about ideas, after all. It doesn't matter if Bernie was ideologically consistent or had better plans, because that's not what wins an election.

It was 41.8 to 41.6 at one point, but regardless watching him boast about his no longer a victory was amusing. :vs:
How long till Hillary, confident in her lead, stops being progressive and immediately flip-flops on all her stances?
More like when do we find out she's flip-flopped.
More like calm your tits and wait for the election to end.
Seriously this Shillary shit needs to stop, it's just as ridiculous as me using "salt" alot.
