They are attempting to put a xenophobic narcissist as the head of our country because they are too lazy and pathetic to do any research.
Being angry about it is a perfectly normal response. Trump will hurt hundreds of millions of people. It is like watching a train barreling towards a car on the tracks and feeling like you can do nothing to avoid the impending destruction.
The elections in Finland simply don't carry the same weight. You have a population roughly in line with a state. We don't generally lose our shit over state elections. We take the presidential election very seriously because the gravity of the decision far, far, outweighs any other decision we make. To watch people vote so carelessly is actually distressing to anyone who gives a fuck about the world.
It's cheap to just write off Trump supporters as people who don't know the issues. Considering how many voters and states he's pulled, you really think all of them are just pathetic lazy people? Why do states like Hawaii want him? Why did the Northern Mariana Islands want him? Just because your person isn't winning doesn't mean those who don't support him are stupid or ignorant.

I can say with total honesty that I've never met a Trump voter who had a good understanding of the issues.
majoring in a worthless subject and voting for a socialist? what a shock!
"If you aren't majoring in electrical engineering you're wasting your time" - if he's paying for it himself what do you care. What are you majoring in?
I can say with total honesty that I've never met a Trump voter who had a good understanding of the issues.
i live with a trump supporter who has chosen him for the sole reason of, and i quote, "we already have to press 1 for english. what's next?". i can also say with total honesty, i've never met a single trump supporter (online or offline) that had a good reason. all they ever do is spout the same rhetoric trump himself says, without ever actually thinking about what theyre saying.
Hell of a big generalization to make. That's like saying most illegal immigrants are rapists and murderers. Also I'm willing to bet "a good understanding of the issues" is something that is totally left up to you to decide so their rationale would never be good enough because OBVIOUSLY anyone who had a REAL understanding of the issues would support your candidate.

Matches Trump himself, doesn't it.

I know right! It's like saying
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

And yet, here is everyone making sweeping generalizations about Trump supporters. Loving the hypocrisy.
And yet, here is everyone making sweeping generalizations about Trump supporters. Loving the hypocrisy.
There's sweeping generalizations that tend to be true (the lower your level of education the higher the chances you're voting for Trump)
And there's sweeping generalizations that are not true, like what Trump said about immigrants.
"first-generation immigrants are predisposed to lower crime rates than native-born Americans. (The Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for restrictive immigration laws, has a detailed report showing the shortfalls of immigrant crime data.)"
There's sweeping generalizations that tend to be true (the lower your level of education the higher the chances you're voting for Trump)

Oh, so your generalizations are the correct good ones? So would it be permissible to for me to want to avoid black people because they make up the majority of violent crime?
Also that statement is about legal immigrants, the ones who worked hard to get here and want to be here, the ones I have nothing but love for, the ones who assimilate.

new mexico and Arizona are good tho
Oh, so your generalizations are the correct good ones? So would it be permissible to for me to want to avoid black people because they make up the majority of violent crime?

They're true because the data shows that they're true. Level of education has a direct correlation with voting record, lower education correlated with republican voters and higher level of education correlated with democratic voters. It's not a rule, it's a correlation, which means it can be viewed in generalized terms.
Oh, it's about legal immigrants, I'm so sorry, let's get data about illegal ones.
The Congressional Research Service found that the vast majority of unauthorized immigrants do not fit in the category that fits Drumpf’s description: aggravated felons, whose crimes include murder, drug trafficking or illegal trafficking of firearms.
If clinton gets the nomination i hope that not only does trump win, but also that he does irreversible damage to our great country. Its time the american people learned a lesson. Stop electing rich assholes. Shillary will not be president if trump gets the nomination. Shes fucking shillary

So do something about it then. That's all we want: for people to get up and do something about it and to take responsibility for their country and their lives. Either we'll get that by electing Sanders, or we'll get it when things get so bad with Trump we're left with no other alternative.
That's why we'll go Trump: because people will do something about it if he becomes president, and we will get change. He's hated, he's a clown of a human being, and he'll make us a joke in the eyes of the rest of the world and run the country into the ground because he has no idea how to govern and dictate economic policy. His healthcare plans are projected to cost us a shitton of money and leave 21 million people without insurance; that's just a taste of what we'll get with him in terms of his policies, and look at how badly he inflamed Chicago the other day. That's what it'll come down to with him, and we'll all be better off for it in the end when we have a reckoning happen.
Welp, I see a lot of people saying they'll vote for Trump to spite Hillary and 'prove' how bad he is so people won't elect anyone like him again, but that's like cutting off your leg so the doctors will take notice of the broken bones in another. An election isn't a god-damned game, people can and will suffer based on what decisions are made by this guy and as much of a showman and populist that Donald Trump is it's still pretty alarming that he's openly spouts some of this crap and as a businessman he'll undoubtedly give big companies tax breaks whilst allowing the healthcare 'market' (a stupid concept to begin with) to screw people over even more than they already do, like with pricks such as Shkreli. Then there's the fact he's among the climate change denial crowd and his 'blame immigrants' rhetoric.
majoring in a worthless subject and voting for a socialist? what a shock!
You say it as if the concept of scandanavian-style socialism is a bad thing.

Oh, it's about legal immigrants, I'm so sorry, let's get data about illegal ones. And that still doesn't mean you can paint all those wacky Trump supporters as big dumb idiots, I just want you all to acknowledge the hypocrisy you people exhibit.

Answer my question about black people. And that still makes it ok to just disregard Trump supporters as big dumb republicans amirite, they must all be dumb for voting Trump right? I just want you all to acknowledge the hypocrisy you people exhibit, I can just as easily say well clearly all the Bernie supporters are people majoring in Gender Studies and Art so they shouldn't count as "educated", they are voting someone who literally supported Cuba at the height of the Cold War, they don't know what the real world is like, they've never held down a job. But if I seriously said that they way you all disparage Trump supporters you guys would flip shit.
is this the end of old man bernie
did it happen america

I don't give a flying fuck why they want him.
He is currently fear mongering his way into power. Muslim bans? Are you fucking serious? The guy literally want to go toe to toe with our first amendment.
He wants to build a wall across our entire border (sans geographically impeding features) with Mexico because reasons.
He is slashing our taxes to pre-WWII levels, a time when the government filled a very different and far less involved role. A time without major social programs.
What part of he wants to dump the EPA and the DoE isn't clear? The guy still believes vaccines cause autism!
He is popular because he is an excellent public speaker and excels at providing the perception of "saying it like it is". He isn't. He is a snake oil vendor, nothing more.

Sorry, I get a bit heated with this shit.
I didn't say disregard, every vote counts and everyone should get a vote. That's democracy.
The difference between you and me is that the data is on my side. Are you now going to tell me that level of education does not correlate? I don't generalize to make a point or to insult you. I only generalize what the data says.
If you can show me that Sanders supporters tend to be Gender Studies majors then I'll also start saying that to people that support Sanders but don't acknowledge it.
So would it be permissible to for me to want to avoid black people because they make up the majority of violent crime?
If you want? I mean it would make you the racist in this context but since it's a free country you can do that? What's the point you're trying to make here. Are you equating the act of violent crime with the act of voting republican?
The problem of black crime is a whole nother can of worms that you're trying to open up here (a problem which is only made worse with policies like Trump's, where you marginalize minorities and go for racial profiling)

He isn't preventing people from practicing Islam so he isn't violating the 1st Amendment.

They don't.

They are responsible for a disproportionate amount of crime for their amount in the population, buuuut that value is absolutely is in line with the poverty that African Americans in the United States face.
He isn't preventing people from practicing Islam so he isn't violating the 1st Amendment.
no but he is violating my civil rights by disallowing me to come back into the country should I leave. so I guess that means I can't visit my family in other countries or go on vacation somewhere else. Doesn't have to stop there either, once he gets a database of all Muslims in the country, he can pretty much do what he wishes with us so long as the Supreme Court doesn't strike him down.
edit: actually, thinking about it, yeah he is violating my first amendment rights. What if I want to go to Mecca and come back? Guess I can't?..
Sorry, I get a bit heated with this shit.

My point on blacks is the data is on my side, so with your thinking I am 100% in the right to view blacks negatively like you do with republican and conservative voters, doesn't make me a racist, I'm just following the facts. And do you seriously believe out of the 50+ million registered Republicans (not going to even count the Independents who support Trump) that they are all poorly educated and simply don't know what's good for them?
He isn't preventing people from practicing Islam so he isn't violating the 1st Amendment.
are you fucking serious
are you arguing that banning a certain religion from entering the country doesn't restrict freedom of religion
He isn't preventing people from practicing Islam so he isn't violating the 1st Amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
Creating a law which bans adherents to a particular religion from entering the country appears to be unconstitutional. Keep in mind that the 1st Amendment was created in response to the times when the monarchy of Britain would switch from Protestantism, to Catholicism, and back again, and the sitting monarch would persecute those of the opposite side. This sort of discriminatory policy is exactly what the 1st Amendment was designed to prevent.
He isn't preventing people from practicing Islam so he isn't violating the 1st Amendment.
He is barring people from entering the country based on their affiliation with the second largest religion in the world. How can anyone in their right mind not see fucked up that is? That is some shit you'd see in the middle east, it shouldn't even be on the table for the United States.
Even assuming you could somehow accept the sheer cowardice of the act and ignore the legal and moral implications, demonizing a faction of your population is how you MAKE DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.

I already pointed out that you are incorrect using the UCR and BJS stats.
He isn't preventing people from practicing Islam so he isn't violating the 1st Amendment.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"
"Respecting" does not mean "In reverence of" or anything like that.
1828 dictionary defined "respecting" as "regarding, relating to, with respect to"
So making a law (Congress shall make a law)
banning the entry of people of Islamic faith (respecting a religion)
Is in direct violation of the first amendment.
also
"Donald Drumpf on Monday suggested he would "strongly consider" shutting down mosques in the U.S. as part of the response to the terror attacks in Paris."
Would that not also be a breaking of the first amendment?
And EVEN IF it wasn't in violation of it, would still be a fucking retarded plan when it comes to foreign policy, as it could easily lead to more radicalization.
I already pointed out that you are incorrect using the UCR and BJS stats.
Check again, also for Islam, there is clearly something going on in the Muslim world that needs to be sorted out, yes "not all Muslims", but tell me if you see a trend in this list.

But nice try! Next time, lets try and frame Mexicans as rapists! It will be fun!

Is that why the poorest Americans live in Appalachia, which is almost exclusively white? Tell me about the rampant violence there.
