Having Trump elected would be much worse for America's international reputation than Bush getting reelected, at least Bush had experience, acted his age and was generally seen as pretty cool outside of politics. Meanwhile Trump has no experience, is dumb as shit and viewed as a complete arsehole by the rest of the world.
There is a general climate of "what are they thinking" amongst the people I know - they are mystified as to what the appeal of Trump can possibly be, outside of being something different. And as everyone knows different doesn't always mean better, or even good.
trump's biggest draw to me is how different he is, like bernie, only they're completely different from eachother.
both would have a big impact on american politics, though.

That's probably because you are friends with like minded people. I don't support Trump, but the people around me do. They like Trump because he will fix the economy and create jobs from his business experience. Trump will stop illegal immigration and protect our borders. Trump will be tough on terrorism. Trump will lower taxes for the diminishing middle class. Trump will make us competitive to china again. Trump is pro-choice. Trump supports Israel. Trump supports gay marriage.
Again. I don't support Trump, this is just what I hear people talk about in case you wanted to know why people support Trump beyond the whole "god emperor" meme.
What would be the logic in that? It's not like this is the real election, this is the primaries. If you vote for Sanders even if you don't think he will get the nomination it doesn't mean that a republican is more likely to get elected. So where is the logic in your statement?
The fact that several Upset Bernie fans want to vote Trump in an effort to "fuck with the system" even though it would only make it worse.
I mean it could just die down before the main election happens, but it's a scary though that Trump could win because of upset Bernie fans.

I have a feeling by the time elections come around, most of those people won't bother voting at all.

A couple of people on the internet said they would vote for X if my candidate Y doesn't win the nomination. Better not support Y even though I agree with him on the most points.
What?
So Bernie lost every state last night but got one more delegate than Hillary in Missouri even though he lost, was it just a pity delegate?
I have a feeling by the time elections come around, most of those people won't bother voting at all.
Don't think like that. If we want to guarantee 4 stable non humiliating years, we must vote for the second best person.
For me that's Hiliary.

How is it not humiliating to have elected a bank-owned president with criminal charges?

I'm saying the people claiming they'll vote for someone out of spite probably won't vote.
How is it not humiliating to have elected a bank-owned president with criminal charges?
you could elect a stray dog and i'd still think more of you than if you elected donald trump
Hillary represents the worst of the Democrats and Trump represents the worst of the Republicans.
Hillary would turn this into a nanny state and throw our men and women into war to appease her donors whereas the mad man Trump...is just unpredictable.
How is it not humiliating to have elected a bank-owned president with criminal charges?
It would be less humiliating than electing Ronald mcDonald as president
Trump doesn't need to be owned by big business, he IS big business.

Hillary is completely unpredictable too
at least not until the baby boomer generation fades
millennials will be no different
not once they get put in 25% tax bracket and above

This isn't about Trump and Hillary. Right now we should just be focusing on Bernie and Hillary. If it really comes down to Hillary/Trump (god help us) why not consider voting for Jill Stein? Don't just vote for Hillary because she's not trump. Vote for a candidate that you support! Jill Stein is green party and very similar to Bernie if he doesn't make the nomination.

As if Trump won't start a war
It's gonna be hard for him to fulfil his promise to murder terrorists' families without boots on the ground.

Trump doesn't have the power to start a war. That is thankfully why we have a checks and balances.
Trump doesn't have the power to start a war. That is thankfully why we have a checks and balances.
Checks and balances applies in a system with conflict of interest.
Not when your congress is republican-controlled, and your president is republican, and the supreme court he appoints will be republicans.
Not when your congress is republican-controlled,
Establishment republicans don't like him, and most likely won't work with him well.
and your president is republican,
Without congress supporting him, the president doesn't have that much power.
and the supreme court he appoints will be republicans.
*conservative* Justices aren't republican/democrat, they are conservative/liberal because their position has to do with how they interpret the laws. Party agendas mean nothing.
Also, a conservative appointment would just bring the court back into neutral balance, which isn't a problem unless you prefer your court to be ideologically driven.

I'm 20 and I've dipped into the 37% (the lowest bracket) a couple of times. Of course iget something else entirely for my money, so yeah.
So it's now official that Bernie didn't win a single state?
This is glorious.
So it's now official that Bernie didn't win a single state?

Yep.
This is glorious.
Well considering he's the only candidate capable and able to make America great again, not so glorious for you.
I too am completely excited to have to choose the best of the worst in desperate hopes that my family members and some of my elementary age students will not be seen as second-class citizens.
It's great.
idk why you people get a thrill out of this
Yep.

Trump will do it just fine, we don't need an out of touch person with the american people and socialist in office.
Poor bierny sanders
Trump or Clinton, I suppose it's going to be interesting
Having Trump elected would be much worse for America's international reputation than Bush getting reelected, at least Bush had experience, acted his age and was generally seen as pretty cool outside of politics. Remember when we thought Bush was as bad as it could get? I miss that.
Trump will do it just fine, we don't need an out of touch person with the american people and socialist in office.
The only thing that Trump would do fine in office is make ISIS stronger (leading to more deaths globally)
and make the USA even weaker on a global scale, lead to more Americans dying of lack of medicine because of his shitty HSA plan, increase internal terrorism by marginalizing groups, building a wall around mexico thus driving up crime rate, etc etc.
Do you honestly think that he's going to get government out of business when the only goddamn reason he's not bankrupt right now is because the government helped bail out his failed ass?
Don't think like that. If we want to guarantee 4 stable non humiliating years, we must vote for the second best person.

But if you vote for what you consider the best person now you aren't locked out from voting if your second best gets the nomination instead. Your logic makes zero sense.

I fucking voted for Sanders :v:.
Hilary was always my back up if Sanders lost though since she's better than Donald Rumsfeld Trump.
Let's make it clear for the whole thread.
Bernie Sanders did not win. Hilary won the Democratic nomination, there is no way around it.
It's really best to just get over it and just avoid a Trump victory at least.
Let's vote for Jill Stein to split the democratic vote and ensure Trump becomes president! We'll be fucked as a country but at least we voted for who represented our views the most! :downs:
