Yeah, meager. *facedesk*
http://www.mtu.edu/engineering/outreach/welcome/salary/
Bernie supporters say "you don't know what it is to be white and poor", and given a non-degree person I shouldn't be doing what I do or making what I make.
I support Bernie. I was in the dirt with you (apparently). I'm asking you why you don't support him now. I think the answer is: You finally got some money and now you're afraid to lose it.
And doing so has clearly cost you any sense of compassion for other human beings. Nobody wants to be you. You do/did not have a happy life. You intentionally highlight how shitty it was to prove your point. Why would, or rather why should, anyone be subjected to that?
I wouldn't mind being him, sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders, makes good money. Also I think it's pretty stupid to try and tell someone if they live a happy life or not, as if you really know him well.

Why would, or rather why should, anyone be subjected to that?
i grew up on a floor like he did, except there were roaches, no food and i didn't have new clothes until i was 14, but that doesn't qualify me to be an asshole when everyone else is suffering. I've even pulled unit counts in the high 20s in my JC. He uses it to seem superior to others because he "Knows" how to survive. Classic example of a strawman and personal experience being "Better" than knowledge.
http://www.mtu.edu/engineering/outreach/welcome/salary/
mmm love livin' on the poverty line making only ~15500$/year working 40 hours a week because i cant afford college :suicide: EDIT: i would also like to mention that for me to get a computer science degree it would cost me ~$80,000+ for 4 years of college. thats over 5 years of working full time at $10/h to pay off, and thats with all my money going towards paying for loans. theres no way im going to put myself through that to maybe get a job
I support Bernie. I was in the dirt with you (apparently). I'm asking you why you don't support him now. I think the answer is: You finally got some money and now you're afraid to lose it.
I notice a trend of people on here trying to tell people what their opinions are or should be.
http://www.mtu.edu/engineering/outreach/welcome/salary/
wow, it's almost like that's a "Meager" wage only for College Graduates. for an uneducated worker you're in the top 2%.
Challenging someone's opinion doesn't mean I'm telling them what their opinion is. I want to know what besides broad-brush-painting generalizations he has for me to support Trump with as a Sanders supporter.
Challenging someone's opinion doesn't mean I'm telling them what their opinion is. I want to know what besides broad-brush-painting generalizations he has for me to support Trump with as a Sanders supporter.
And you want to chastise him for making money and wanting to keep it, how dare he. He is basically part of the evil 1% now because instead of expecting the government to make his life better he took it upon himself to improve his situation.
No, I want to chastise him for painting people with a broad brush. I'm challenging him to think about how he was and asking if, put in that situation again, he wouldn't also be voting for Sanders. Edit:
instead of expecting the government to make his life better he took it upon himself to improve his situation.
Just because you want something and you work towards it doesn't mean you deserve it or are going to get it. His situation improved, mine didn't. We both tried.
Would you admit that factually he is neither of those things based on the real definition of both of those things nor does he actually desire them I get you have a childish and intense dislike of him, but you have actually created a fictional character to hate. It's really enjoyable to watch you have a public mental breakdown.
I was bringing out extreme name calling because the thread did, if I went extreme we can redo. However Bernie has proclaimed on his twitter he is a socialist
So you really think you're alone in this world and this world just exists to serve you You're right of course oh american overlord! Heavy on the sarcasm there, maybe you couldn't tell.
I never said that, but I don't think we should outsource jobs when Americans are begging for work.
I'm not talking about that you child. I was talking about the prohibitive costs AMERICANS would face But please Make this about whatever you want Every time you do I fucking win.
Parents could work, children are not forced to Common Core which effectively destories NCLBA. I'll watch my your CDN decreases and america rises to the top and is a world leader in everything again.
And you want to chastise him for making money and wanting to keep it, how dare he. He is basically part of the evil 1% now because instead of expecting the government to make his life better he took it upon himself to improve his situation.
What a facile argument. He lives in america, He pays American taxes, and he likely used american welfare programs growing up. How dare we expect him to pay his fair share?
mmm love livin' on the poverty line making only ~15500$/year working 40 hours a week because i cant afford college :suicide:
I did it, even if I lived in my car for a while. Stop being a baby I did 8:44-12:38 school for 2 years in HS, then 2:30-11 at a retail job to pay for college.
No, I want to chastise him for painting people with a broad brush. I'm challenging him to think about how he was and asking if, put in that situation again, he wouldn't also be voting for Sanders.
Well make sure you chastise the other side for doing the exact same thing, because us Republican voters are apparently all big dumb uneducated bible-thumping rednecks.
Well make sure you chastise the other side for doing the exact same thing
How about I chastise you for painting me with a broad brush in the same breath you're telling me to paint other people with a broad brush, when my whole point was 'I don't want people to paint other people with a broad brush'. Since when is it my burden to carry the chastising of what other people have done?
And you want to chastise him for making money and wanting to keep it, how dare he. He is basically part of the evil 1% now because instead of expecting the government to make his life better he took it upon himself to improve his situation.
Everyone should pay taxes. Everyone should contribute because everyone is in it together, and everyone has always been in it together, there was no first mover or prime movement. Everyone, is actively, without your acceptance or acknowledgement of this fact, as a fact of business, relying on each other. As a society, this is true as well. You buy goods that have been certified safe and not a scam by public agencies, that were transported on public roads, moved around by employees who given a minimum wage so as to have funds themselves backed by a public government, to be sold using public legal tender in one of the worlds most open and regulated public markets for profit. You all have a duty to each other in society.
What a facile argument. He lives in america, He pays American taxes, and he likely used american welfare programs growing up. How dare we expect him to pay his fair share?
Why don't you ask JohnFisher89 if he is paying his fair share of taxes, I grew up poor, was homeless and alone at 20 and lived in my car, I didn't use welfare programs, I put my ass to work and got out of it myself and didn't expect the government to give me handouts just because I had it rough. [editline]17th March 2016[/editline]
How about I chastise you for painting me with a broad brush in the same breath you're telling me to paint other people with a broad brush, when my whole point was 'I don't want people to paint other people with a broad brush'. Since when is it my burden to carry the chastising of what other people have done?
I haven't painted anyone, when did I ever imply we shouldn't pay taxes? No one here is a millionaire or "the 1%" supposedly dodges taxes.
You think I got that when I had to deal with growing up on a maggot infested floor, or having roaches crawl on me? please by all means tell me how you lived 1st-9th grade. While you say no one wants to hear it people with similar thoughs, backgrounds, and opinions are voicing the majority. I mean hell I agree no one wants to be me, because I want trump to bring good jobs and stability to our debt in the country. Bernie supporters say "you don't know what it is to be white and poor", and given a non-degree person I shouldn't be doing what I do or making what I make.
What jobs will he bring? He keeps talking about the manufacturing jobs. How will anyone afford the products produced without enforcing massive boosts to minimum wage? Manufacturing jobs of the past were well paid, but society has shifted away from that. Now it is effectively slave labor in order to keep product prices low. Even so, people can barely afford things as they are. What you are describing would require that he effectively control the private sector with an iron fist. You'd need borderline totalitarian authority to accomplish this.

You're so fucking delusional mate, you keep acting like you're managing to reply to me but you really aren't. you keep imagining another person in this argument as far as I can tell. I'm fucking done You don't answer anything you just throw fucking insult after insult after dumb generalization after empty hollow rhetoric
Why don't you ask JohnFisher89 if he is paying his fair share of taxes, I grew up poor, was homeless and alone at 20 and lived in my car, I didn't use welfare programs, I put my ass to work and got out of it myself and didn't expect the government to give me handouts just because I had it rough.
so what you're saying is you're chastising me for my family being smart enough to use resources available, like medi-cal, welfare, subsidized housing, while you were too prideful to take advantage of those programs, made specifically for the people like you growing up? That's stupid and a stupid argument for not paying taxes.
I put my ass to work and got out of it myself and didn't expect the government to give me handouts just because I had it rough.
Having enough pride to refuse the handouts despite them existing for helping exactly who you were isn't a suddenly admirable quality. Your one success story doesn't mean that it's more possible for other people to do what you did. Lots of people refuse those things out of pride and stay in the dirt and/or die. They should accept them. Part of the reason why they don't is because people feel ashamed of getting help. What is the point of a society if it doesn't help you? Why call ourselves neighbors if we're not willing to help each other out? Grit is one thing - making yourself out to be 'elite' because you beat the odds just encourages people to continue this mindset that food stamps and such are 'evil' or for 'lazy people'.

I can't examine this anymore, I feel like I'm talking to someone who genuinely wants an authoritarian government, he's argued that Trump should lobby as president to get things done. I mean that's literally advocating for a plutocracy. Literally.
Bet you constructing that wall will provide plenty of jobs.
paid for by taxes a public works program BUT YOU WERE AGAINST THIS IN ANY OTHER CONTEXT how the fuck you don't understand your own hypocrisy can only be intentional.
I did it, even if I lived in my car for a while. Stop being a baby I did 8:44-12:38 school for 2 years in HS, then 2:30-11 at a retail job to pay for college.
I thought you didn't go to college.
paid for by taxes a public works program BUT YOU WERE AGAINST THIS IN ANY OTHER CONTEXT how the fuck you don't understand your own hypocrisy can only be intentional.
When did I say I was against taxes lmao

I'm on nobody's side. I don't subscribe to any party. I don't care to paint republicans or democrats. Show me where I've given you reason to think I hold those stances. Supporting Sanders' medical stance means I'm "on his side"? Does being on 'his side' mean I automatically side with the Democrats? That means I automatically share their views?
When did I say I was against taxes lmao
You were against public works programs lol that's socialism yo
When did I say I was against taxes lmao
Why should we expect the government to build a wall and help millions of workers? You see i got a job at the age of 20 after living in my car for two years, and i turned out just fine.

Trump supporters generally display it to such extremes that it almost seems like they are trolling.
