and the lives of those killed have been left behind in stasis
Does that make any sense at all?
Why is it that British new outlets INSIST on having unnecessary references and El Capitan Obvio captions for pictures that accomplish nothing but increase word count while simultaneously insulting the reader's intelligence?
chernobyl has a similar setting
Lol not even close, Chernobyl exclusion zone has been looted to hell and back. The only stuff remaining is something that is either way too heavy, useless or glows in the dark.
Did they just spoil some major future plot-twist for me? Or what the hell are they even trying to say with that?
Terrible writing probably. I know video game talk in here is frowned on, but god damn a STALKER game set around Fukashima would be amazing.
no? it means they turn into zombies [editline]8th October 2015[/editline] unless discovering zombies = dead people is a spoiler for you
"being left behind in stasis" = turning into a zombie
Why is it that British new outlets INSIST on having unnecessary references and El Capitan Obvio captions for pictures that accomplish nothing but increase word count while simultaneously insulting the reader's intelligence?
Would be difficult to find an intelligent Daily Mail reader
Terrible writing probably. I know video game talk in here is frowned on, but god damn a STALKER game set around Fukashima would be amazing.
Yes that would be cool. (I can't rate agree so eh)
Would be difficult to find an intelligent Daily Mail reader
But BBC and all the other outlets do this shit as well.
"being left behind in stasis" = turning into a zombie
They meant their lives, not the people themselves. Stuff they left behind, homes, cars, etc, left behind in a static, almost stasis-like manner. Is it really that hard to understand? I know the Daily Mail is shit but damn

Now the seeing can view them as well as the blind can hear them.
Just goes to show how nature reclaims everything when we aren't around to contain it. Really beautiful and creepy.

Sadly they probably won't be able to go back for another 40 years, However i don't understand why the people don't return now there is another place in japan that is a complete city that was bomb by a nuke and they are somewhat fine. you get mutations and sickness still but somewhat fine.
And then Die of cancer many years later
It would take 14 thousand hours in the outer areas this guy was in to have any kind of meaningful effect. A day isn't going to do anything
I wonder what they gonna do with all those cars. Ill pay $1 each for one of those radiated tangs to keep me warm at night.
Fukushima STALKER game please
It would take 14 thousand hours in the outer areas this guy was in to have any kind of meaningful effect. A day isn't going to do anything
583 Days and 8 Hours!
583 Days and 8 Hours!
What happens at 583 days, 7 hours, and 59 minutes?
Those pictures with the crevices caused by the earthquake are absolutely sublime to me. It's so interesting to see moments where the earth just ripped itself apart, and that it was in an open, pleasant field made it look even more amazing.
What happens at 583 days, 7 hours, and 59 minutes?
You die [sp]Of old age a long time from now[/sp]
You do realize that the radiation that resulted from the two nuclear bombs was far far far less than the amount Fukishima or Chernobyl spilled out right?
Those bombs were airburst, meant to cause as much destruction as possible, they were not optimized for spreading radiation. Anyways, the amount of radiation that Chernobyl spread out is still far more than that of Fukushima.
As bad as it was, it could've been way way worse. If the fuel rods were allowed to burn like they were at Chernobyl, Tokyo would've been a ghost town.
It's amazing at how quickly nature has taken over. I mean in a little over 4 years it looks like that. I honestly thought some wildlife would have moved in but not to that extent
Its been 4 years!? Woah...
I would really like to go help with the cleanup there just to see how it looks without humans maintaining an area.
Why the hell have they dumped all those CRTs outdoors? Do these things absorb a lot of radiation or something when irradiated?
As bad as it was, it could've been way way worse. If the fuel rods were allowed to burn like they were at Chernobyl, Tokyo would've been a ghost town.
Do you realize how far away from Tokyo Fukushima is?
Do you realize how far away from Tokyo Fukushima is?
In a straight line it's less than 150 miles.
