Those cars are almost as ugly looking as Lada's. Which were made by Russia for Ukrainians! Ukraine has a lot of history.

In the article it mentions people wanting to return although they're afraid it'll take a while though.

"People" is vague and probably used for emotional impact. Young families [the lifeblood of communities] will never move back. The area is effectively going to die out with the elders that have long histories in their homes there.
