The UN likely won't do anything military, the security council has little power therein. I'd imagine that they will take a much more diplomatic standpoint, and try and hurl red tape and negotiations at both sides until they calm down
well you're the one who thinks the UN will be able to do anything other than spout rhetoric
It can't do anything unless it has the support of the members.
Fuck, let's all start praying Russia isn't stupid enough to use a nuke or attack the US itself.
Go to your bed. You're too young to converse on the subject.
Jesus christ. Using nuclear weapons...
Russia hardly has a government. Russia can't have a War, their economy is gone. Their troops are useless without experience.
What the fuck are you talking about? Russia has a government, and their economy is booming. There are more millionaires in Moscow than in any other city in the world.
It can't do anything unless it has the support of the members.
Russia's gonna veto it all.
Fuck, let's all start praying Russia isn't stupid enough to use a nuke or attack the US itself.
My opinion of Medvedev aside, nobody's that fucking stupid.
It won't be WW3, not over this
but then again WW1 was over something the size of Rhode Island
WW1 was a cluster fuck, some dude got assassinated, that pissed off that country, they declared war, then because of some alliances made, a few other bodies jumped into the fray, and before you know it, the whole joint was all like pew pew an shit.
The immediate cause of the war was the June 28, 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, by Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb citizen of Austria-Hungary and member of the Young Bosnia. The retaliation by Austria-Hungary against the Kingdom of Serbia activated a series of alliances that set off a chain reaction of war declarations. Within a month, much of Europe was in a state of open warfare.

don't start this shit
it's okay for a little speculation, but tis goes way the fuck too far
Oh, ok. Would it be over the line to theorize about the course this war might take?
It can't do anything unless it has the support of the members.
And the countries with veto power don't attack it.
Namely: the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, and China
I honestly think this is more of a nationality fight.
people and nations aren't worth fighting for anymore, you can't sell people, and you can't sell nationality. It's only worth fighting over if you can make a profit on it, seems to be the big thing these days
Edit:
And the countries with veto power.
unless you override the power with the majority vote. kinda like the 2/3rd's over ride we have in the US
What the fuck are you talking about? Russia has a government, and their economy is booming. There are more millionaires in Moscow than in any other city in the world.
It's still too weak, they wouldn't risk the progress they are making with a war. Their spending power is still very limited.
Medvedev is focused on Russian social systems.

You do know they're already fighting in Chechnya? You really are pretty naive about Russia.

Wars generally aren't financial ventures.

Jesus Christ Using nuclear weapons...
Run for your lives! Jesus uses nukes!
Any new news on this I don't feel like reading pages 11-27 right now. Dizzy.
You do know they're already fighting in Chechnya? You really are pretty naive about Russia.
That other guy was suggesting World War 3, all countries come out broken after such a war. Think of scale.
unless you override the power with the majority vote.
Granted, but if any one of the P5 nations veto it, at the very least, it will be delayed.
The Cossacks invading Georgia is the newest thing.
That other guy was suggesting World War 3, all countries come out broken after such a war. Think of scale.
Sorry, that doesn't make the bullshit you said any less wrong. Nice try though.
Wars generally aren't financial ventures.
War creates alot of profits
He never said that. This just shows how much you've researched (or how much you didn't, you decide). And about the possibility of communism actually working, argue that with a communist. I hear a lot of good arguments from them, but they're hard to understand.
Seriously, I know Marx fundamentally created communism, therefore he says no economy.
Any new news on this I don't feel like reading pages 11-27 right now.
Not really. Seems to be in a number gathering phase of sorts right now from the sources I've read. Number of civilians dead, soldiers dead, planes shot down etc.
I wonder if the doomsday clock is going to be affected by all this
All the nations that could actually do anything about the war will just bitch and moan until Russia takes out the Goergian president and has the moron parade around in a dress. At that moment the UN will attempt military force, and Russia will back down.
War over man, war over!
That other guy was suggesting World War 3, all countries come out broken after such a war. Think of scale.
The repercussions of such a war would go WAY beyond the actual conflict. Many nations would use the chaos to their advantage(i.e. Pakistan and Iran destroying each other, Russia/China/other super powers annexing territory, etc).
War creates alot of profits
which is why the U.S is in a half trillion dollar debt because of the war were in right now right
Not really. Seems to be in a number gathering phase of sorts right now from the sources I've read. Number of civilians dead, soldiers dead, planes shot down etc.
Alright.
Guy's stop fighting on the fucking economy and if Russia is communist or what the fuck it is.
I will say one thing and one thing only:
Go Georgia.
I wonder if the doomsday clock is going to be affected by all this
The atomic doomsday clock? Nope, now Iran... yes.
Seriously, I know Marx fundamentally created communism, therefore he says no economy.
You really should stop talking about politics. You don't know what you're talking about.
