It sounds like something of fiction, that would be in a semi-futuristic war novel.
exactly, or a real time tactics game. But I was at work the other day, watching the world around me continue, uninterrupted by the events, and I realized that my mind couldn't comprehend the idea that everything could just shut down, and a real war would kick in, not this war in Iraq where no one is really affected here (except at the pump) but as in, stockpiling supplies, military drafts, all that. I can't imagine it.
Don't worry, the Russians are poor and unexperienced.
They're a pushover.

regardless, we aren't going to war with them. that's just silly.

Uh, nukes?
Uh, nukes?
To be honest, firing a nuke at a nuclear power nowadays sounds like pushing the button to destroy the world as we know it. No half-sane leader would do that.
Uh, nukes?
no one would be stupid enough to use nukes, because then everyone else would use their nukes. Mutually Assured Destruction and the end of 99% of humanity, at least.

Earth would be renamed to the planet "Fubar".
Earth would be renamed to the planet "Fubar".
No one would be left to name it.
No one would be left to name it.
Except the Southern Hemisphere.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that happened.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that happened.
At least we wouldn't miss out on anything.

The international space station would have a great view.

NASA wouldn't be around to maintain it anymore so it'd probably fall out of the sky soon enough. Ofcourse the crew would be long dead before then because the computer failure would leave them without environmental controls and oxygen.

The worst death of them all.

I'd just rip my mask off and let it happen, fuck waiting.

Israel is sane enough. =\
Fun fact: Georgia didn't attack another country. Georgia attacked a separatist region, and Russia attacked it.
Might be nice if you got your facts in order before you accuse other people of ignorance.
Not only that, the separatist region IS still part of Georgia to begin with
Look at this.

News report - Georgian prime ministrer confirmed that tanks near Tbilisi belong to Georgian forces. He also cofirmed that there is no Georgian casualities in both West and East parts of country.
That information is proof that there is no russian troops in Georgia. Also on Russia-NATO conference Russian representative will ask NATO about disinforation stream and will show all facts about conflict."It is very important for NATO, to see our information report, our stats, our offer to solve this conflict".
Russia will win!!! And truth will be uncovered!

Disregarding the fact you might just be trolling. South Ossetia is part of Georgia. As is Abkhazia. Russian troops are in Georgia.

Not to mention that it's been posted on several news sources that Russia controls a highway point that basically cuts Georgia in half.

Right, Because Troops have been pulled back to Defend Tblisi, the capital, that automatically means there are no Russian Troops in Georgia, If you were leading an all out attack you would not report your numbers or where they are either, Georgia has been blockaded from the sea, has enemy Forces on two fronts, has been cut in Half, so they have pulled back everything they have to defend their capital, you better hope that your country signs that peace agreement when it hits Moscow or You're going to have many Western countries coming to the aid of Georgia until you leave, The United States alone would have a field day destroying all your old ass pieces of Junk you call a Military Force, Hell you might even have an advantage, if your shit can't run then it won't produce heat to show up on FLIR
Wow, I haven't read this thread for a few days. 660 posts. :geno:

For comparison, here's some pictures of Abkhazia taken last month. It's not related to the conflict. But it helps some people get the message that these regions didn't look like New York before the evil Russians and Georgians bombed it. The guys over at Something Awful have been finding these links, for future reference.
