Holy shit..is Russia stupid or something? The cease fire called for both sides to return their forces to their original positions. Russia has a convoy, claiming it's demilitarizing the area. Well that's not getting out now is it? I love how they claim they aren't in Gori. Propaganda doesn't work when there are freelance reporters, and western media in the area. We should just send a brigade into Tbilisi, to stabilize it and to keep Russia's nose out of it.
President Bush just declared we will send "humanitarian" aid to Georgia spearheaded by our military, and I guess we'll be doing this by air and by sea. It all comes down to Russia.
(CNN)Russia insisted the convoy was not heading for Tbilisi, while Georgia's president told CNN that the cease-fire no longer exists
President Bush just declared we will send "humanitarien" aid to Georgia spearheaded by our military
does bush and Georgia WANT to start WW3?
(CNN)Russia insisted the convoy was not heading for Tbilisi, while Georgia's president told CNN that the cease-fire no longer exists does bush and Georgia WANT to start WW3?
It wouldn't be Bush who starts it. It would be Russia if they attack. Besides this is probably what Russia wants, and it would have happened sooner or later.
Oh well, every century begins with a large-scale war, it had to happen eventually.
However nuclear war doesn't sound that good. I would have no problem with conventional war, millions dead, yes, however it won't affect the world as a whole like nuclera war will...

I don't believe nuclear war is a probability. Not now or in the near future at least. Russia has probably learned from the last cold war. There's no point what so ever to attack each other with nukes, cause everyone loses. Edit:
The western media in the area is Georgian
I'm pretty sure CNN has some people in there, and BBC probably does too. But who knows, they could be getting their info from the Georgians like you said. Eventually there will be people from CNN/BBC there.
It wouldn't be Bush who starts it. It would be Russia if they attack. Besides this is probably what Russia wants, and it would have happened sooner or later.
America and NATO should leave their hands out of this. Georgia attacked russian allies, and now they are talking the heat for it. Let them get invaded for all i care. It should be easy to know that Russia don't like being fucked with. And when georgia fucked with South Ossetia, they fucked with the russian bear. "When you think your fucking them, they are fucking you." Edit:
I don't believe nuclear war is a probability. Not now or in the near future at least. Russia has probably learned from the last cold war. Edit: I'm pretty sure CNN has some people in there, and BBC probably does too.
however battling with a country with equally as many nukes and as many soldiers is a problem, it would strain ressources and manpower. It would be more effeciant to launch the nukes instead of a conventional war. If i hear Russia and the US is attacking each other, i will seriously begin building my own bunker. And if the news report nuclear weapons are on the way i would rather jump off a building, then stay in the world that comes after it...
shut the fuck up about nuclear war, there is not going to be any goddamn nuclear war for the 5th time And we're sending help to Georgia because we're obligated to, they're our allies.
So this shit is why people were teamkilling me on a Russian CS:Source server. EDIT: my nick was Georgian Special Tactical Unit
I'm pretty sure CNN has some people in there, and BBC probably does too.
I won't make any claims about whether and how biased CNN and BBC are, because I don't know. They do sound less biased than AP, but they still probably access the zone from the Georgian side. As far as I know, there is no western media in South Ossetia, where the civilians mourn the genocide victims as shown on Russian television. (Google "1tv.ru")
shut the fuck up about nuclear war, there is not going to be any goddamn nuclear war for the 5th time And we're sending help to Georgia because we're obligated to, they're our allies.
If russian troops fight american troops, i can assure you that nuclear war will happen...

If there was a war..it wouldn't last very long.
They have nukes and one of the largest navies in the world.
Size isn't a measure of quality.
If russian troops fight american troops, i can assure you that nuclear war will happen...
NO IT WILL NOT GET THAT THREW YOUR HEAD god some people
They have nukes and one of the largest navies in the world.
Who Russia?! I'm pretty sure they only have one aircraft carrier(more like a cruiser). Its the Kuznetsov or something, and it's run by a steam based engine. The American navy would control the waters no doubt. The only problem would be the anti-nimitz class rocket fired from the Russian submarine. But Russia only has so many subs.
Well it wouldn't be just the U.S.,it would be with NATO,and probably the EU also. If there was a war..it wouldn't last very long.
DEFCON shows a maximum of 2 hours, and as fast as 30-90 minutes...
DEFCON shows a maximum of 2 hours, and as fast as 30-90 minutes...
As said multiple times above, the chance of nuclear war is non-existant.
Here's why http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_assured_destruction now shut up
If russian troops fight american troops
That's not gonna happen either.
Here's why http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_assured_destruction
Ever seen Threads or The day after? It always start because of misjudgement by either side, and the war always happens of one small accident. Say one soldier accidently shots a russian/american. One small thing on the ground can effectivly mean end of the world... Edit:
That's not gonna happen either.
The zen master said, "time will tell"
The zen master said, "time will tell"
Don't count on it. War is undesirable for both countries.
But if it can't be avoided (it still can) it will happen...
Exactly, it can still be avoided. But I guess anything can happen.

Edit: The zen master said, "time will tell"
This is the last fucking time we're going over this; there will be no nuclear war, even if things do heat up. There is absolutely no reason to blow the fuck out of civilian targets when both sides are completely capable of fighting each other conventionally. Why blow your load all at once instead of biting your thumb and fighting on the ground? Nukes are only dangerous when they're in the hands of radicals, and neither the Russian nor the U.S. government is radical enough to use them. Neither side has an agenda for destruction.

I just wonder if the russians since then have changed that.... Edit: (Fox news)Bush said a U.S. C-17 aircraft with humanitarian supplies is already on its way and U.S. aircraft and Naval forces will deliver humanitarian and medical supplies to the country in the coming days. As long as the russians don't shot down those planes (which they won't) then there is no problem. I just wonder if Georgia would shot down one, then blame it on the russians to get support.

That goes without saying they can still nuke the shit out of something if they wanted to.
Size isn't a measure of quality.
Doesn't mean they're going to run when they should fight. Apart from the US, they're the only country with a nuclear aircraft carrier, there's your quality right there. Edit:
Who Russia?!
