I thought it was because the first like 20 hours of the game was a tutorial but that's just what I've heard and I never played it so eh.
It being extremely linear, even by Final Fantasy standards was a factor for the hate as well. Or so I've heard.
Really not interested in this (or really any of the other final fantasy games) but can we get final fantasy 15 on PC please?

My main issue with this video is that he fails to address the most pressing question asked:
Whens Mahvel?

15$ is the current price

Well that's a much more reasonable price than I expected.

The original game and subsequent adventures in the FINAL FANTASY XIII trilogy will soon be available for PC gamers to play for the very first time, with all games in the series due for release by Spring 2015.
FINAL FANTASY XIII expands on the rich traditions of the series, with producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Motomu Toriyama, character designer Tetsuya Nomura and art director Isamu Kamikokuryo combining their creativity to deliver a beautifully epic FINAL FANTASY universe. Additionally, Masashi Hamauzu presents a sweeping soundtrack while movie director Takeshi Nozue and his team of artists adorn the game with seamless cinematic sequences.
The FINAL FANTASY XIII trilogy began in March 2010 with the release of the original FINAL FANTASY XIII and continued with its sequel, FINAL FANTASY XIII-2, released in February 2012. The most recent release in the FINAL FANTASY XIII series, LIGHTNING RETURNS™: FINAL FANTASY XIII, launched on 14th February 2014 to critical acclaim. The series has been widely successful, shipping over 11 million units worldwide.
Entire trilogy by Spring 2015
So... what are the improvements over the console versions?
Entire trilogy by Spring 2015
Call me whatever you want, but I'm excited for this. I don't have a console and I liked the playthrough of XIII I watched.
Dual Audio, if the Store Page is to be believed.
Are we looking at the same store page? Mine only says English.
The requirements are rather low it seems. Probably nothing visual as an advancement.
Honestly, I'm considering this. Had it been full price I wouldn't, but this is $15 bucks. Hell, the only thing that would be $60 would be the full trilogy (15 for 1 and 2, with 30 being the price of LR because it's newer), and that's damn reasonable imo.
In the end there's quite a few things wrong with the series, especially the fact it's considered a "series", but as a PC owner I might as well.

I'D imagine that it needed to be crazy optimized so several instances can be ran n a server, as this is the build designed for Square's DiveIn streaming service.
As long as the cutscenes are viewable in 1080p it's all fine by me, Square Enix are masters of prerendered cutscenes.

I mean, it's about 30 gigs, so it better have awesome cutscenes.
Besides money... is there any reason why they're doing this if it is true?
Money is something of a primary motivator for all businesses. So, yeah. It'll be money.

I'd take this warning over that language listing.
If it wasn't bad enough that S-E had to make console owners suffer now they will allow PC-only gamers to experience the torment of playing this game.
12€? That's a hell of a lot more than reasonable. Japanese audio to sweeten the deal.
Alright, even if people think the game was average it's worth it for that much.
Here's the control scheme for the PC version, by the way.

Not sure if customizable, but they look serviceable at least.
Buying it together with FF IV because I'm a massive FF fan even though FF XIII is not really high on my list, but for that price I can't complain.
I would love to see Legend of Mana spiffed up and given a PC port. Online multiplayer would guarantee a buy.
Besides money... is there any reason why they're doing this if it is true?
They want a piece of the rapidly growing cake that is PC gaming, I guess.
This is literally the only Final Fantasy that I want to stay as far away from as possible.
This is one of the most polarized trilogies. The first game's gameplay sucked, but the story ended on a good note. The unwanted sequel improved on the predecessor's free roaming gameplay at the cost of its story. The final game took a step back with that time limit bs, but the combat system was pretty good.
though I still love XIII-2 because I spent the entirety of the game dressed up in...

I liked ff13. I thought it was pretty
I actually loved this game, nice music and visuals. Gets a lot of hate, especially from people that have never played It or gave It up after 2 hours.
There's like 50 hours of playtime just to beat the story.
I don't even like JRPGs and I thought Final Fantasy 13 was pretty good.
However, I might be super biased since FF13 was my first next generation game lol. Every five seconds I was like WOW THE GRAPHICS WOW THE MUSIC AND SOUND DIRECTION WOW THE CHARACTER MODELS
