If memory serves, the statistically most american modern car is the Toyota Corolla
we make every part here, and it's all assembled here, but it's owned by Toyota
And Ford Mustangs have transmissions either made in Mexico or China (depending on autotragic or MANual).
The most American car (counting by domestically made and assembled IN the US) are funny enough the US spec Toyota Corolla's.
Not everyone wants a sports car. Some people just want a car that gets them from A to B and doesn't cost a ton of money to own. I'd be one of those people.
There are many cars that are cheap to run but are not shit.
It's the difference between getting from A to B in comfort and enjoyment, offered by a good driving experience, or getting from A to B with your butt hurting and you bored/annoyed to death all the way because the car is no fun to drive and probably automatic, and your ears hurting because the car is built poorly and something is rattling.
There's also reliability issues, etc.
Just because you're not interested in the performance of a car does not mean you should be ignorant about cars.
This mentality of "idgaf about cars as long as it moves it's fine lol" is the reason why the Chrysler PT Cruiser, one of the most fucking horrible cars ever imagined and built, managed to get even a sale.
