the whole "YOU CAN MURDER!" stinks of publicity stunt, the more worrying part to me is if they don't have any plans in place to rescue people so you can watch them slowly starve or freeze to death live on internet tv. that seems a bit more fucked to me

well, they do claim to have some level of safety precaution so starving to death won't happen, thank god. someone is probably going to get mauled to death by a wild animal, though.

Sounds like they're just saying that their rules don't stop it, but they can't stop the police from arresting you. I'm sure it'd make more sense if you could understand it natively instead of some sensationalized article.

No one actually came into this thread expecting it to really be like Hunger Games right? Obviously Russia isn't actually going to host an event where literally anything is allowed with complete exemption to Russian law.

Kind of sensationalist. The game show rules don't bypass the law and the contestants can commit crimes no more than in any other game show. The organizer could just as well say that contestants can bring their own nukes to the show, that's about how preposterous the statement is. Its just a thing a guy said to promote his show. And yeah, its a fucked up thig to say but it's still a crime and the repercussions are the same.
Basically, the organizers made a sensationalist, provocative statement by endorsing rape and murder, probably for publicity. It's the same as a wrestling event claiming there will be murder and mutilation.

True to a strong degree, but I will say that boredom can play a factor to things. So, if someone is bored with their life (and quite affluent) there's a possibility that they might jump into this, to bring some excitement into their life.
Although to me, that's a remote possibility, and fairly unlikely.
Boredom has resulted in some ridiculous things being done around the world before.
Will this the first Reality TV show that lives up to the genre's name? Probably not but it's a nice thought.
