And since the original Duke Nukem 3D is gone off of Steam and GOG too, they nuked 3D Realms from getting anything for the original release. Gearbox literally made everyone else fuck off altogether so that they were the only ones profiting off of this new version and the license altogether, as VenomousBeetle stated above.
So that means now when you search Duke Nukem on Steam, all you get is Forever and this. [sp]And Bombshell, but that bombed so no one cares about it anymore.[/sp] I don't know if the 360/PS3 even host their version of DN3D anymore.

I don't have duke nukem 3D installed but it's still in my GOG library. You just can't buy it anymore.
I refunded Megaton Edition because I needed the $10 for something else

I know its not the most legit way to go about the problem, but G2A and other sites like it actually still sell copies of Megaton Edition afaik. I'm assuming they must've hoarded them after the announcement that the games would disappear from Steam and GOG.

The problem is then you have to deal with G2A, who are awful in their own right. You'd probably be better off pirating the game if your only choice is G2A...

All of this hub-bub reminded me I got the Atomic Edition for free off Gog, when they had that deal going on. Never did install it at the time.
I installed it last night, and I am tripping balls at how much I am remembering from when I played it when I was like 8 years old, and just feeling that overall rush of nostalgic warmth.
I have Quake 2 as well, I've been debating reinstalling and playing that, too. Duke Nukem 3D and Quake 2 basically summarize my childhood.

Butchering would be like what they did with Lo Wang in the new Shadow Warrior, where they turned him into some scrawny, whiny, little bitch of a Yakuza guy.

Except Lo Wang isn't really a whiny bitch? He's not the 90's action movie chinese stereotype, but at the very least he was changed into a character more fitting for today's demographic, compared to the hyper-narcissistic fuckwad Duke is now as a relic of his age.
And he means 'butchered' because people think the World Tour episode is going to be memes or really bad choices for modern quotes, alongside the fact that Gearbox basically fucked over anyone involved with Duke almost so they could claim him for their own, and the fact that Jon St. John doesn't even sound like he gives a shit anymore. (Judging by Rad Rogers, he can still put in the effort, too.)
