British coins are pretty retarded anyway. Whoever decided to have coins that weigh as much as a small family sedan should be drawn and quartered.
You can just take all your change to a coinstar at the supermarket.
Remember that they take 10% though. I usually buy cheap rolls and count them and then stuff them in my savings account at the bank.
i hate having a ton of pound coins
I like the heaviness they add to my wallet, if it feels chunky I know I can go tesco and pick up loads of munch without splitting a note.
I still don't get why you guys in the US still use $1 notes, they don't last long and just get in the way, coins last longer and take less space. Theres a reason we dropped the £1 note and other countries dropped their #1 notes too for #1 coins. US just comes across as a bit backwards with some things at times.
For this reason. Paper money is actually harder to counterfeit. Also a number of other reasons that aren't as readily apparent. People don't use coins in the same way as bills, which leads to people storing their coins much more frequently than spending them. Given that coins cost six and a half times as much to manufacture as paper bills, it doesn't take long before it makes more sense to just continue using paper money. The list goes on and on. Basically research doesn't support the switch, which is precisely the opposite of backwards.
I love the Eisenhower dollar coins, they're so huge and fun to pay for things with. I always carry a couple with me when I go out.
Remember that they take 10% though. I usually buy cheap rolls and count them and then stuff them in my savings account at the bank.
You might be able to get the rolls free from your bank.

It's free and they can add it to your account right away or give you cash bills and change back.

US just comes across as a bit backwards with some things at times.
It is far easier to dispose of them to keep down inflation and they are still surprisingly difficult to counterfeit. And they are way easier to keep in a wallet (with all the singles I keep, sitting on the same amount in coins would fucking hurt) and to store, and they are cheaper. Yeah no, 1$ notes are much better than coins. If anything is "backwards" it is using the same inefficient form of money that they did in the Middle Ages.
I still don't get why you guys in the US still use $1 notes, they don't last long and just get in the way, coins last longer and take less space.
It's true they don't last as long, but paper bills are gentler on strippers.
You can just take all your change to a coinstar at the supermarket.
They take a 10% processing charge. Take that into mind lol. For large amounts of money, you could lose quite a bit of money from this. If you only have like £5 then it's hardly worth then go ahead and use a coinstar, but if you think you might have a half-dozen amount, it may be worth using a bank
You can just take all your change to a coinstar at the supermarket.
I wouldnt want to give coinstar $300,000 for what a bank offers as a free service.
