I'm glad the judge made this decision. Just because the majority won doesn't mean the majority was right. It's one of the reasons America has a lot of terrible officials. Who wins the position of power is purely based on the amount of sugarcoasted shit they spew out their mouth to convince the stupid. Religion is obsoltete. It does nothing good for society in itself, and it certainly does not have a place in politics. I'm fine with people having their own beliefs, but once you try to force it on others you're a major asshat.
I wouldn't go that far
George Bush
George Bush
Well I mean religion isn't like...a bane on society I don't think.
"That the majority of California voters supported Proposition 8 is irrelevant, as “fundamental rights may not be submitted to [a] vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections.”" That's from the ruling. Fundamental rights should NOT be submitted to a vote by people, that's giving an inordinate amount of control over a majority that may very well not like the minority they're voting for.

hallelujah
Well I mean religion isn't like...a bane on society I don't think.
Not in itself, but when it leads people to infringe on the rights of others, it is a bane.
Dammit how many irony meters do you have to blow up before you're satisfied
Maybe he's doing a destructive boycott? The irony detector company is just not listening to the irony pixie trade union and something needs to be done.
Not in itself, but when it leads people to infringe on the rights of others, it is a bane
The magical thinking that it aids and abets is enough alone to get rid of it.
Not in itself, but when it leads people to infringe on the rights of others, it is a bane.
But since most religious people feel the need to put themselves above others, they target a minority and try to seclude them from society. I mean really, we've already been through this with peasants, women, and skin minorities already. I won't be surprised if there's another minority something like this pops up upon.

BUT we will be a president that was not born in the US? :V

Maybe it's only the religions that revolve around Jerusalem that do that.
And I'm still a second class citizen :buddy:
And I'm still a second class citizen :buddy:
why
Man I never hear of any Hindus or Buddhists doing this. And Shinto Buddhists in Feudal Japan were very violent extremists.
Any modern examples though? [editline]09:04PM[/editline] Not that I don't believe you, it's just that people in ancient history fight over everything
Im some gay guy on the internet
We need more gaybows. :) /gaypride.

Gandhi himself was assassinated by a Hindu extremist.
Yeah you got me.
Yay for gays....just as long as you don't throw a parade in a major street I need to take to my job. I'm fine with ya'll.
A step in the wrong direction.
Sure it is
Oh for fuck's sake. What do you people seriously have against gay people? If they aren't bothering you, why should you give a damn?
Maybe he's an ex cop out for revenge after his buddy cop was murdered by a rainbow colored clown at a gay pride parade in 1987 and now he lives his life in fear for the day that the same fate happens to him.
