At least I can have a fucking conversation that way.[/QUOTE] Heres the thing, i wasnt replying to what your post was about, i thought i made that very clear, my point was that there was no rape in the new tomb raider, which you used as an example in your post when you described shocking scenes to further character development or plot is hacky writing, i tried to point out that there isnt a rape scene, when you changed it, i didnt need to reply to your post anymore, i think what happened here is i was focused on one thing, where as you thought i was talking about something completely different in your post, and it spiraled out of control until neither of us knew what the other was trying to get at.

Whatever, man. Anyway, why is this even an issue? If the scene in question is the on shown in the 'Crossroads' trailer then there is absolutely no rape in this whatsoever. The guy just attempts to grope Lara, Lara fights back then either the guy gets killed or Lara gets killed.

Back on topic, though, Rape CAN be used as a good plot device, it's just that the amount of writers who can successfully pull that off without it being hamfisted can be counted on one hand.

The real controversy should be the amount of quick time events this game appears to have, which is just a terrible way to get a player involved in a game.

It's that the crime is being used cheaply as a transparently shallow ploy to seem 'deep,' and to justify the game mechanics of killing people in droves. It's shitty writing. Fucking amateur-hour stuff. They're not using rape seriously as a facet of the plot, they're just using it to be arbitrarily dark and gritty.
