That's just plain stupid.
They're clearly trying to make a point.
Maybe one day Facepunch will rule Britain
Corporations running for congress.... Wow. I can't wait until the corporations that took billions of our tax dollars so that they could stay in business but used it to give themselves 6 and 7 figure bonuses run for office! Imagine Congress full of Nixons, how fun!
I'm pretty sure the "corporation" is actually a group of guys running for congress as a sort of protest.
This can't be good.
Maybe one day Facepunch will rule Britain
In order for this to happen we need an underground government that will rise against Britain covertly.
In order for this to happen we need an underground government that will rise against Britain covertly.
It is fate that Facepunch will rule the world. Facepunch shall be our holy texts, ever changing. There is but one Garry and Hezzy is his prophet. Garry Ackbar!! :jihad:
Anyone else think Murray Hill is only running to protest the ruling of the Supreme Court, just to show how absolutely rediculous it is?
hooray for people still not fucking understanding what that ruling did.
Want to try explaining it all over again? Third time is a charm!
In order for this to happen we need an underground government that will rise against Britain covertly.
You mean like the Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem, Green and BNP parties?
I love how so many idiots think this ruling will suddenly let corporation influence politics. If anyone knew what was said in the ruling, you'd know they can't. They aren't allowed to set any conditions on the money, which means they can't say. "We gave you money, now pass these laws for us." Fucking shitheads.

Lankist has already tried in two other threads. You'll just be banging your head against a wall.
Lankist has an issue with going off the deep end in to insanity though and not being fully explanatory.
hooray for people still not fucking understanding what that ruling did.
tl;dr it for us, please :v:
Corporation is trolling us. Here is a picture of the CEO:
It's intended to not work, they're trying to prove a point. It's a Liberal Public Relations company.

this is a good thing guys. :frown: fucking with my pictures
tl;dr it for us, please :v:
Corporations can run their own political advertisements independently of campaigns. The ruling was reached because an activist group was denied the right to air their film because it too much resembled a political ad. Corporations still cannot directly contribute or collaborate with candidates.
First step towards corporate government? It's like every dsytopian cyberpunk-ish fear come to life.
It'd be interesting to see if they win
That is fucking hilarious. And if this kind of garbage ever becomes a reality, there's always Canada.. or Mexico :smithicide:
So fucking...:bang:
Senator Apple, stop playing with your pad.
I see george carlin at 8 seconds. Hoax.
I'm dumbfounded at how many of you are completely missing the point of this
I'm dumbfounded at how many of you are completely missing the point of this
I think I get it. A little statement on personhood of a corp. It's just creepy to see people even go there. Which I guess is the point. I had audio off when I first watched the video. Wow, that is seriously awesome. "for the best democracy money can buy" :xd:
I'm dumbfounded at how many of you are completely missing the point of this
it has a picture of george carlin in it, it's high brow humor bro
